And I felt so I, I, I'm in love
With you oh oh
I found out
How good it feels feels feels
To have your love oh oh
Say you will
Say Will be mine mine mine
Just one look and I knew
That you were my only one oh.
I thought I was dreaming
But I was wrong, yeah yeah yeah
but I'm gonna keep on scheming
Til I can make you
Make you my own
Can't you see
That I really care care care
Without you
I'm nothin' oh oh
Just one look
And I knew
I, I, I'll get you some day
Just one look, that's all it took
Just one look
Donna Marie's "Just One Look" is a classic love song that focuses on the experience of falling in love at first sight. The singer expresses how looking at someone has the ability to make them feel like they are in love, and they go on to describe the newfound feelings of love and happiness that come from having that someone's affection. The chorus repeats the phrase "Just one look" multiple times to emphasize the power of gaze and love at first sight.
The song overall has a very upbeat and positive tone, with a strong emphasis on the joy and excitement that comes from falling in love. The second verse, however, introduces a moment of doubt as the singer describes feeling like they were dreaming when they fell in love. Yet, instead of giving up, they continue to scheme and dream of the day when they can make this love their own. The closing repetition of "just one look" brings the song full circle, highlighting the way that looking at someone has the ability to spark love and the desire to make that love last.
