@@Graslu00 So after years of being stuck on this, I finally managed to get this cheat today. I used different tactics from you that I seen on other videos (by using 2 mines to clear out guards throughout the level, then near perfectly placing the last 3 to blow up the gas tanks).

Feels so good to finally get it after years of being haunted by that one missing cheat. Have been determinedly bashing this since I commented on your stuff on here and Reddit the other day, and just got 1min 50 secs on my PAL cart.

It has also made me realise even more so that you doing this in 1min 15secs without using any mines to kill guards, and also having sub-optimal placement of Doak, is truly next level.

Next thing for me to try is some no damage runs for each level, or maybe even a 1 life playthrough of the game, which I know will be even harder.

Guess it's time to start watching through your vids again for some tips and tactics 🙂

For mere mortals like me that struggle at the first security room after getting the keycard, I found it helps enormously to toss a mine down to the end of the hallway. Takes out 3 or 4 guards down there which makes reaching that remote control door a lot smoother. You really only need 3 mines for the tanks at the end — just put them on the floor in between four tanks each.

it boils down to where dr soak is sometimes he’s in one of the side rooms where those guards walk towards bond but mostly he’s in with the scientist rooms before the main bottling tank room, also trev is annoying as sometimes he walks near the back tanks and you can’t blow up until he moves out the way

I just did it in 1:55 using this technique. Finally oak was in that laboratory. I messed up my mines though and when I saw it didn't complete the objective I had to shoot three tanks before ending it.😅

It is the epitome of skill when the tremendously difficult seems to be easily achieved to the casual observer. The 2 minute target time, just by itself, is extraordinarily difficult to get. If you'd have gone back and time and told a young me that the level could be done in just over one minute, I'd have said it was impossible. I cannot recall how many attempts it took me but I'd safely wager it was at least fifty tries. I don't even want to imagine how much time and effort it took to get to THIS level of skill.

this was one of the last cheats I unlocked and it took me about 8 years to get it. The quickest time I could manage was ~2:30 and then one day in 2008 I just sat down and did some grinding and then had a breakthrough and got a 1:55 or something. I don't think I ever achieved that time again, but at the same time I kinda stopped trying after I got it the once

OMG Thank you so so much for this video! I've been trying on and off since GoldenEye dropped on Xbox Game Pass, and was getting super frustrated.

I watched a couple other guides, and couldn't quite do what they were doing. I finally got it in 1:39, thanks to your video! Though I couldn't move quite as fast as you, this guide was so good that it didn't matter my speed!

Also appreciate the tip drop for insta-detonating the mines!

As a teen when I first started seriously playing this game, two cheats gave me the most trouble. This one, and Caverns. Caverns to me was the nightmare wall more than Facility. Well, on the new XBox version (which sadly isn't the enhanced version from the 360 which they should really consider finishing the debugging and releasing at this point) I actually managed Caverns a lot easier than I did back then, and now I'm stuck on Facility. Videos like this are a big help.

Invincibility cheat is the toughest cheat to unlock in that game. I did them once but I always have trouble w/ the soldiers & end up getting shot too much! I normally use the remote mine in the foyer where you exit the restroom & to kill some guards after getting their attention by getting spotted then detonate to diminishes numbers after obtaining Clearance Keycard B but to be careful not to destroy the panel that activates the security door. Other problem is when I open the security door leading to two tank rooms both sides where Dr. Doak randomly spawns is the guards immediately open fire whilst walking towards me.

World Record is currently 51 seconds. This run time here at one point was a World Record time. Of course Graslu got this one first try instead of grinding, however.

You can't even run it with out having to open doors in that time . My best is 1.20 and that took a hell of a lot of luck and hundreds of attempts. I'm aware of all the records and speed runners but that time is 1 in a billion. I'm having none of it with out video evidence and show all cheats are off 🤣. Not having 51 seconds don't care what anyone says . Not with out evidence 🤣.

Did the thing myself today...1:51. I veered off a bit by going up the stairs leading up to the bathroom entrance after getting the keycard to take out the two guards from that bathroom so as to get a chance to preserve my health as best as possible. Beating the 2:05 is contingent really on Doak spawning in the area with the siderooms with the hallway leading to the bottling room. And as long as you post the mines on the back row of tanks, no need to worry about Trevelyan getting caught in the blast radius. Truly one of the great Holy Grails of achievements if there ever was one!

If memory serves me right, I got the game prior to seeing the movie so the doors were my default. It wasn't until seeing bond exit via the conveyor in the movie that I had any idea of it's importance

Good job I've tried so many times to unlock the invincibility cheat but I could never do it so I put it in manually also what makes it more annoying is dr. Doak appears randomly but you pulled it off I used to know somebody who would come and shop at my store and he got a job there at one point but was only there for a month he told me he pulled it off

In my opinion the hardest cheats to unlock for the casual players is Archives 1:20 or Caverns 9:45. Caverns, while allowing a lot of time, is long and can be hard for a lot of players, so if you die or fail the mission you lose a lot of time. Archives requires you to know a bit of speedrunning basics. Which cheat are you missing?

Flipping ARCHIVES!!! That's my last cheat. I thought facility was going to be the pain in my ass (and it was) but archives is extremely difficult. 1:20 is brutal!

@@drewb6107 Can't say I like it. I enjoy it because it's GoldenEye, but it's a pretty lacking way to play it. Has issues the original didn't have, the only improvement really is smoother framerate and higher resolution, but even the framerate gets drops on Switch and Xbox has slowdown issues...

And games received obligatory upgrades back then like they do now then you probably would have to wait for Dr. Doak to give you the decoder AND have to redo the cheat unlock as it probably would've been relocked in the update.

Whith xbox release, I am about to face again one of the most challenge in my career of gamer like many other peoples here 😅.

For those who also wondered how to detonate mines quicker on Xbox (i.e. whithout to have select the watch) : when you hold mines, just hold A and then press Y.
EDIT : Done in 2:00 😀 . Just took a little more time to kill guard at the beginning with the silenced pp7, much easier that way

Yet on Perfect Dark the invincibility cheat was stupid easy to unlock. Perhaps that's a deliberate design choice on account of Perfect Dark being sadistically difficult anyway - it gives you a chance to "dry run" harder levels on harder difficulties and learn strats etc.

i was 13 when this came out. i remember going to my friend's house and he was trying to unlock invincibility, he was saying it was impossible, so i asked for a try. sat there for at least 4-5 hours doing it over and over.. it wasn't hard, it's just that everything had to line up with the scientist, guards, etc. a few times i got close but killed trevelyan! eventually i got it, but then i still had to do it on my own console..🤦🏾‍♂

This one you just gotta be plain lucky. I'm sure you restarted a million times before Doak appeared at the end. You just don't have time to check the rooms, you have to bank on him being in the final area and hoping Trev isn't taking his sweet-ass time getting away from the tanks.

It all really boils down to if Doak spawns at the labs and not the side rooms where the 3 guards are or the gas chamber on the opposite side of the labs. I've done this cheat about 6 times. I just kill the key card guy, run and push the security door console, run to the 3 guards and either blow them up with a mine or run and gun. Then take my time a bit with the guards upstairs by the labs, ensure Doak is there and immediately run to the locked door, quickly activate the decoder, turn around for guards behind me until the door opens and if I have 4 mines from using one against the 3 guards I use those, wait for 006 to move away far enough from the tanks and if all tanks don't explode I quickly pull out my KF7 and shoot them on my way out using the conveyor belt.. strafing away from guards that followed me in to avoid getting hit

It is still very easy to get the cheat if Doak is in the side rooms, the only suboptimal spot is the opposite gas room. This is why I stop here to check through the windows if he's there.

@Graslu00 Yeah I never once thought to check the side rooms after killing the 3 guards since I usually panic from guards following me in from the first area and time pressure. This cheat unlock is one thing.. but I find Train, Caverns and Aztec to be the hardest compared to Facility

Was there a lot of lucky RNG in this or are you just insanely good? I've tried this so many times and just keep getting shot to pieces by the guards. The chances of me both managing to survive the onslaught of guards and to also have Doak in the right place are so small that I don't think I'll ever manage this 😩

You can get the cheat no matter where Doak is, unless he's on the second bottling room at the right. But yes I've been playing this game for over 20 years so that should answer the question. :p

Haven't played this game in nearly 20 yrs. Gave it a shot on the Xbox and man, did it have me struggling to unlock the cheat. I fuckin got it though at 2:00 and I'm relieved 😆 Tried at least a dozen times, but once I got a rhythm down, it got easier and easier. I thought it wasnt possible again after all these years. What I did that seemed to help me personally and not get lit the fuck up is once you shoot the guy with the key card, hang left and go from the back side and take out all the guys that route. That sticky bomb trick helped a ton 👌 Also, I said fuck trying to find Dr Doaks bitch ass in different spawn points and would just reset again if he wasn't near the end. In my case, he was always either at the end or at that other room with the 4 platforms. Fuck that guy lol

I did it in a different way: I used the "all guns" code and quickly cycled to 2 gold PP7s and started shooting and running to make noise, whiled hopimg to find Dr.Doak in the way to the gas tanks, since he is always in different places everytime you play that level. Then I simply shot those tanks with te gold PP7s instead of using explosives.

Keep in mind that using this code is different of using a cheat from the cheat list of the menu, so it does not count as a cheat in the gameplay.

I've actually put in the in game invincibility cheat and rushed through the level. I could have beaten it but Doak isn't spawning in the area I need him in

Strafe running, go forwards and sideways at the same time and your speed basically doubles. Recommend using the 1.2 control scheme so you can aim freely on the stick and move with the C-Buttons.

I finally got this after probably 40 tries. It’s like 30% skill 70% luck. Doak location will make or break you. My time was 2:03 and that’s good enough for me. Never again.

When i do this anytime theres more than 3 guards nearby the framerate drops noticeably

Wow that was fast compared to me I would always be a second late and then when I finally got it before a second also the other pain-in-the-ass thing is the pattern of where that scientist is also aren't you supposed to not kill scientist I think they put a scientist for the three guys were in the hallway so you couldn't do that no more unless it's okay to kill them then I'll try it out though

Ok literally right now I finish the level in 1:41, but I cant blow up all the tanks and rendezvous with 006 completions. I have my save point suspended walking down the steps, just keep doing it over and over I'm close!!!

I got it on my N64 as the last cheat unlocked, was one of my proudest moments still to this day. Can't wait to smash the feat once more, its like a trophy.
