1.- Douglas had a knack for writing songs with hooks that could land whales whilst retaining a hardcore sentiment coupled with energy and emotion. Live performances were a frenetic mass of raw energy, chaos and positive belief in what they did, leading to slots on the Warped Tour and supporting Lostprophets on their 2003 UK tour. After their most successful headline tour to date, changing personal priorities lead to Douglas splitting up. Jamie from the band recently joined Boom In The Diamond Industry. They recently reformed for a one-off performance supporting thisGIRL at their last ever gig in Cardiff in January 2007.

3. Douglas is a Pittsburgh, PA rock n' roll band currently revamping their style and sound. The band's line-up seems to be forever in flux, but current members include Jeff Bets, the brains behind the band as well as the lyricist, guitarist, and back-up vocals, Melissa Beall, lead vocals, and Chris Fazio, lead guitar, bass.
They have released one album, Yankee Bluegrass. "YANKEE BLUEGRASS showcases a sort of innocent gameness to try anything -- swingin' horns, three-chord rock, acoustic ballads, surfy guitar solos, even a little twang -- that's oddly affecting" “A free-and-easy romp through alt country and playful pop, punctuated by Jeff Bets’ old-timey harmonica... The music’s summery vibe should sound perfect right about this time of year”.

Time to Leave
Douglas Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I think it's time to think ahead,
But reasons I'm still sitting here.
We're hovering besides ourselves
And we're still lying on the shelf,
My feet are sticking to the floor.
Unnecessary arguments.
Decisions are not really hard.
Decisions are not really hard.
I'm buring out, not giving up.
In Douglas's song "Time to Leave," the lyrics express a sentiment of feeling stuck in a town that's stifling progress and productivity. The first line, "This town is swallowing us up," creates a sense of being overwhelmed and trapped in a place that's not conducive to growth. The next line, "I think it's time to think ahead," suggests a need to plan for the future and move forward. However, the reasons for staying in the town are unclear, and the singer admits, "But reasons I'm still sitting here."
The second verse uses physical imagery to further emphasize the sense of feeling stuck. The lines "We're hovering besides ourselves / And we're still lying on the shelf / My feet are sticking to the floor" evoke a feeling of being stagnant and immobile. The singer is aware that the arguments and decisions keeping them in the town aren't really necessary or difficult, yet they still can't seem to muster the courage to leave.
