2014 is the year Down Royale releases their highly anticipated debut album, ‘Sway’. They have pushed their ideas and concepts further than ever before while setting a new standard of what a modern heavy album should be. Down Royale will be touring extensively to promote the album, exploring new areas and bringing their intense and energetic live show to new fans.
'Sway' was produced, recorded and mastered at STL Studios in Gosford, Australia by Sonny Truelove.
The band has shared the stage with national and international metal giants such as All Shall Perish (USA), Veil Of Maya (USA), Sybreed (SWITZERLAND), Mnemic (DEN) and Psycroptic (AUS).

The lyrics to Down Royale’s song Make You Bleed describe the guilt and regret of someone who has committed a violent act, possibly murder. The singer’s eyes have been burned out from witnessing and perpetrating sins and hatred, and they recognize that their victim never intended to be their only answer. In a moment of blind horror and torment, the singer manipulates their victim into putting a gun in their mouth, with the singer’s finger on the trigger. The singer remembers the torments that weakened their mind, but insists that the bullet was not meant to make their victim bleed. Nonetheless, the victim’s blood has gone, and their body is cold. The singer feels that they have failed in their attempts to recreate the meaning of deception, but pleads insanity nonetheless. They wonder whether their victim is proud of them, now that they have proven themselves.
