With Dr. Woggle & the Radio you’ll get a full reggae sound with its deep roots in rocksteady, ska and soul music. It’s bang, in your face, pumping through your veins like lava and then flows away leaving behind the feeling of last-summer-nostalgia.
The Caribbean in the centre of Europe? That’s right! These seven guys come straight from Weinheim, in southern Germany – The town with the most days of sun per year in the whole country; as well as having the biggest concentration of offbeat-addicts per square mile. Making reggae was a natural choice for the guys as they grew up.
„Rockers!”is the third album from the band who have successfully spread their own version of reggae music over the last 10 years. The elements which have made people purr at festivals and concerts from Germany to France, the Benelux, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic and Italy, have now been pressed on vinyl.
„Rockers!” combines the strengths of the former albums „Suitable“, (2001, Elmo Rec./ SPV) and „Bigger is tough“ (2003, Grover Records / SPV): It’s an easygoing groove with roots in the traditional music of Jamaica but still individual and recognisable anywhere. Dr. Woggle & the Radio is a great sound for parties, warm and earthy, retro but still here and now.
„Rockers!“ creates the amazing atmosphere at their live gigs in your living-room.
Besides the doctor and his radio some other great musicians were involved in the recordings: Mal Elévé (Irie Revoltés), Jesse Günther (The Busters), Stefan Keller (The Busters) and Lolo Blümler (Ska Trek) – which shows that Weinheim is the capital of German Reggae – Rockers Reggae!

It's starting to fly
See how the hands go
Waving goodbye
And you know I get so forgetful
When I look in your eyes
Now she's walking backwards (now she's walking backwards)
And I'm stuck in the shadow (I'm stuck in the shadow)
Blocking the shade (shade)
And there ain't no way to sweep up
The mess that we've made
She gets dressed up like a pillow
So she's always in bed
Flowers for the sick and dead
She's on the go, way too fast and way too slow
She'll turn to stone at hospitals and funeral homes
And when the fog rises
Somebody sighs who is not in disguise anymore
There's nothing to keep you (nothing to keep you)
From falling in love
It starts at the bottom (it starts at the bottom)
And comes from above
Like pieces of a puzzle
Like a hand in a glove
She gets dressed up like a pillow
So she's always in bed
Flowers for the sick and dead
She's on the go, way too fast and way too slow
She'll turn and stop at hospitals and funeral homes
And when the tide rises
Somebody sinks and is gone in the blink of an eye
Somebody sinks and is gone in the blink of an eye
In Dr. Woggle & the Radio's song "All The Time," the singer is urging their partner to lay down and explore the tenderness between them. The singer states that there is no one around to see them and asks if taking a little time to find each other would be okay. The chorus of the song repeats the idea that they have all the time in the world to take it nice and slow and that they have everything they need to plant a loving seed and watch it grow. The bridge of the song suggests that they stay down until the fire stops burning and the room has stopped turning. The singer expresses that when the embers are dying low and they are lying in the afterglow, it will be as sweet as anything they've known.
The song "All The Time" is about taking the time to explore the tenderness and love between two people. It emphasizes the importance of taking things slow and enjoying the process of building a relationship. The singer suggests that if they take their time, the love they plant between them will have the chance to grow and flourish. The bridge of the song indicates that there is a sense of urgency to stay down and enjoy the moment before it fades away.
