1)The Dream Warriors … Read Full Bio ↴There are two artists known as Dream Warriors:
1)The Dream Warriors are King Lou and Capital Q (aka The Quiet Storm), a pair of Toronto, Canada-based alternative rappers.
2) A metal band from Honduras.
1) They formed in 1988 and released the jazz rap LP And Now, the Legacy Begins in 1991, which was critically acclaimed and sold well in Canada and the United Kingdom. The album spawned the hit single "My Definition of a Boombastic Jazz Style", which featured a prominent sample of Soul Bossa Nova by Quincy Jones which originally appeared on his 1962 LP Big Band Bossa Nova and was also the theme music to the Canadian game show Definition.
The 1994 follow-up, Subliminal Simulation, received mixed reviews, and has since been forgotten by some and named a cult favourite by others; it featured guest vocals by Ishmael Butler of Digable Planets (on the track "Tricycles and Kittens"), and Guru and DJ Premier contributed to two different versions of the song called "I've Lost My Ignorance (and Don't Know Where To Find It").
Their most recent album, 1997's The Master Plan, was poorly received and did not sell well, but they made an appearance in 1999 for The Herbaliser on the track "Road of Many Signs."

Follow Me Not
Dream Warriors Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The fool or the fool who follows the fool?
Who is more fool, who is more fool
The fool or the fool who follows the fool?
Follow me not, a me not, a me not
Follow me not, a me not, a me not
Follow me not, a me not, a me not
Follow me not, you'll get caught
In a hot spot
Cause I'm more hotter than the burning sun
A pink cerebellumental
Raised from the funk
Only I can beat the magic into the junk
Words are spilled across universe echoes (echoes, echoes, echoes)
I've got the Cato
The style that I spring, that I bring to your earring
Is piercing
So they crown me the king
Of myself, because I am what I am
You chose to graze on the pig and the ham
Who is more fool, who is more fool
The fool or the fool who follows the fool?
When I was a young boy, found in the lost
Sea of Orinoco, flow to the light
Looking for a parasite to eat up
So I could get stronger and beat up
The negativity, the positivity
Freedom, freedom
I cry to be free
So I grew up fast and lived a fast life
Speakers and sneakers, this music, my life, my wife
May nothing pierce her immortal shell
The arrows turn now, the swords repel
Pen to the paper, ink to the scroll
Primed to the limit, food for the soul
Dare not jump into the pot if the pot appears hot
Who?
The fool, you forgot
Who is more fool, who is more fool
The fool or the fool who follows the fool?
Who is more fool, who is more fool
The fool or the fool who follows the fool?
(Is the fool, the fool, the fool)
Follow me not, a me not, a me not
Follow me not, a me not, a me not
Follow me not, a me not, a me not
Follow me not, a me not, a me not
Follow me not
Who is more fool, who is more fool
Who is more fool, who is more fool
When I was a young boy, found in the lost
When I was a young boy, I've got the Cato
Who is more fool, who is more fool
The fool or the fool who follows the fool?
When I was a young boy, found in the lost
When I was a young boy, I've got the Cato
Follow me not
Follow me not
Follow me not
Follow me not
Follow me not ...
The song "Follow Me Not" by Dream Warriors seems to be a warning against blindly following someone without questioning their actions. The repeated refrain of "Who is more fool, the fool or the fool who follows the fool?" suggests that blindly following someone else's lead is foolish, and that it is important to make your own decisions and think for yourself. The song includes autobiographical elements, with the singer recalling a difficult childhood and the struggle to overcome negativity and find freedom. The singer also seems to take pride in their own unique style and perspective, warning listeners not to follow them but to think for themselves.
The lyrics to this song have been praised for their clever wordplay and rhymes, which add depth and meaning to the song's message. The use of metaphor, such as the "sea of Orinoco" representing the challenges of life, adds to the song's complexity. The song is also notable for its unique blend of hip hop, funk, and jazz influences, which helped to establish Dream Warriors as innovators in the Canadian hip hop scene of the early 1990s.
