Thinking of the changes that you need
To come back home again
I don't see your way, maybe, yeah, today
You could make the changes that you need
To come back home again
And hope we don't slide away
Come out the other side intact
Don't slide away from me now, don't slide
Forget those yesterdays, all the things that you would say
All the changes that you need to make
To come back home again
Do you see your way? From then now to today
Yeah, you can make the changes that you need
To come back home again
Chorus
Please don't slide
I can feel you sliding don't deny it I can feel it in you
Feel it in the way you used to be, the way you aren't so now
What you going to do to get me back do you even want me now
I can't see your way, yeah, see it, can you see your way
I want to make the changes that you need
To come back home again
And hope we don't slide away
Slide into our dreams and not
Come back out the other side intact
And hope we don't slide away
Slide into our world of dreams
And stay there and not
Come back out the other side intact
Don't slide away from me now
Don't slide away from me now
Don't slide away from me now, don't slide
Yeah, please don't slide
Don't slide away from me now
Don't
Slide
The lyrics of "Slide Away" by Driveshaft speak about the pain caused by someone who has left and the hope to bring them back home. The song starts with the singer remembering the past and what led to the present situation. He is holding onto years of memories and unremitting tears, thinking about the changes that are needed to bring his loved one back home. He acknowledges not seeing their way, but hopes that they will make the necessary changes to come back home. The chorus is a plea to not let their relationship slide away and to prevent it from turning into just a dream that they can't come back from. The singer is aware of the changes needed to come back home and forget about the past, but he feels his loved one is sliding away and begs them to not let that happen. The song ends with a plea to not slide away now.
The song captures the sorrow and desperation that comes with the aftermath of a loved one leaving. It highlights the hope to save a relationship that is on the verge of being lost forever. As the chorus repeats itself, the urgency in the singer's voice increases, mirroring the anxiety and fear of losing their loved one.

Slide hammer on the end of the propshaft perhaps

@dave sterl yes never thought of that. The frontbtwisted off so possibly the spline is twisted. I'm going to try zip cutting it tomorrow.
dave sterl
@Phillip Bailey just a suggestion, maybe the splines are damaged try rotating in the opposite direction of normal forward rotation whilst in gear or park
Phillip Bailey
No room for slide hammer in front as the diff and exhaust are in the way. I think I'm going the remove the transmission mount and slice the shaft with a zip cut blade. On both sides if I have to.
