bringing me down-gti
Drowning Pool Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Every day, always the same.
I hear your name and it cuts through me like a chainsaw
And i fall back into that simple fool you always knew.
And just as soon as i let you back in
Seems I'm reminded of all of this again.

Bringing me down.
How much more will it take till i brake.
And i drive that stake
Right into that thing that you call your heart

Hell its fallen apart
And i don't think it works right from the start.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Drowning Pool's "Bringing Me Down" express the feeling of being caught in a cycle of pain and hurt caused by someone you can't let go of. The first two lines set up the repetitive nature of the pain, and the metaphor of a chainsaw cutting through the singer's emotions reinforces the visceral, painful nature of the memory. The mention of being a "simple fool" suggests that the singer may have been taken advantage of or hurt in the past, and is struggling to break free of that pattern.

The second stanza starts off with a glimmer of hope, as the singer decides to let this person back into their life, but quickly becomes disillusioned as they are "reminded of all of this again." The chorus repeats the phrase "bringing me down," which implies that this person is having a negative impact on the singer's mental health.

The final stanza shows the singer reaching the end of their rope, with the question of "how much more will it take till i brake" indicating that they are close to breaking point. The use of the term "stake" suggests a violent end to the relationship, and the criticism of the other person's heart falling apart, suggests that they are not capable of love or a healthy relationship. Overall, the lyrics to "Bringing Me Down" paint a bleak picture of a relationship gone wrong, with the singer struggling to break free from a cycle of pain and hurt.

You can estimate the density of the water by averaging his body weight and size as well as the rocks with a cylinder, rounding it to 0.3m diameter and 1.9 height (accounting approximately for the rocks too), getting the following:
Volume โ‰ˆ ฯ€ ร— (0.15 m)ยฒ ร— 1.9 m โ‰ˆ 0.134 mยณ
Now, we determine the change in water density:

68 lb = 0.134 mยณ ร— (ฯโ‚‚ - ฯโ‚) ร— g
Convert weight in pounds to newtons (for easier procedure)
68 lb ร— (1 kg / 2.205 lb) ร— (9.81 m/sยฒ) โ‰ˆ 301.8 N
And solve the change in density as the rocks pile up on him as
301.8 N = 0.134 mยณ ร— (ฯโ‚‚ - ฯโ‚) ร— 9.81 m/sยฒ
(ฯโ‚‚ - ฯโ‚) โ‰ˆ 301.8 N / (0.134 mยณ ร— 9.81 m/sยฒ) โ‰ˆ 224 kg/mยณ
Considering it's not pure water and seawater, were the density would usually be 1000 kg/mยณ, we can instead use the average for seawater at ฯโ‚ โ‰ˆ 1,025 kg/mยณ
We'll calculate the final density using the same approach as before, considering the volume of the man and the extra mass added
M_total = M_human + M_extra = 72.6 kg + 30.8 kg = 103.4 kg
Now we can calculate the volume of the man and the extra weight:
V_total = V + (M_extra / ฯ_water) โ‰ˆ 0.0737 mยณ + (30.8 kg / 1,025 kg/mยณ) โ‰ˆ 0.103 mยณ
Finally, we'll determine the final density of the water (ฯโ‚‚):
ฯโ‚‚ = M_total / V_total โ‰ˆ 103.4 kg / 0.103 mยณ โ‰ˆ 1,005 kg/mยณ
In this case, considering seawater, the final density is approximately 1,005 kg/mยณ, indicating a very slight increase in density by him

Some tips from a local who was in the dead sea.

1. Don't go in with fresh cuts. Minimal brusing is fine but anything more than a paper cut and the pain will not go away.
Same with recently shaved areas.

2. Don't be scared to let your body float. If you're gonna roll, roll. Fighting it will make water enter your eyes and...

3. IF water enters your eyes, don't be scared. Ask a friend to lead you outside and towards one of the outdoor showers.
If alone ask somebody near you. If nobody is near you try to remember the way out. If you can't, stay put and wait. Eventually you'll be able to open your eyes.

4. Come in early morning or evening. That's when the water is cooler and the temperature is nicer outside.
Plus, fewer people will be present.

5. For men : avid ANY brusing in your groin before going in. If there's even one tiny bruise you'll have pain down there, forever.

6. If you vidit the dead sea through Israel : Chairs and alike are probably one of the hotels property. And you need to rent it for money from the hotel if you don't have a room in the hotel.

And make sure to enjoy your stay! The Negev and Arava are beautiful! Go on one of the many different trails.
And what's nice is that a 3 hour drive brings you from the desert to the lush and green views of the north.
