1) The German rave band Dune. The band was founded in 1995 by Oliver Froning and Jens Oettrich, who are both big fans of the novels by Frank Herbert - hence the name Dune. Their first single "Hardcore Vibes" featured the voice of Oliver's then 11-year-old cousin Janine. Their second single "Are you ready to fly?" sounded quite different and already featured the typical Dune-style with high-pitched vocals and a catchy melody.
At the end of 1996 the band released the album "Forever" with a lot of tracks in a classical style - all tracks where performed together with the London Session Orchestra (see Dune & the London Session Orchestra). Lead singer Verena von Strenge left Dune after the release of "Forever" to start a solo career. Dune came back in April 1998 with a new lead singer (Vanessa Hörster). The single "Keep the Secret" was only a medium success and its successor "Electric Heaven" flopped completely.
In late 1999 Verena von Strenge came back as lead singer after her solo career was not as successful as she wanted it to be. The single "Dark Side of the Moon" was released and the album "Reunion" was produced and ready for release in May 2000. However the album was never released due to a court order that stopped the single "Heaven".
The latest single released was "Rainbow To The Stars 2003", a rework of their 1996 classic. It was released on 23 June 2003.

Go go valentine
Dune Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I tell myself to leave
But act blind
At this time
I have no more to give
I won't go
I won't go
Won't go
Every time
I tell myself to leave
I won't go
Won't go
Won't
Won't go
Won't go
Won't
The lyrics of Dúné's song "Go go valentine" explore the conflict and struggle within a romantic relationship. The repetition of the phrase "Every time I tell myself to leave" suggests a pattern of considering leaving the relationship but ultimately choosing to stay. The singer acknowledges their own blindness or ignorance in continuing to stay despite knowing they should leave. This could imply a sense of dependency or fear of change that keeps them trapped.
The line "At this time I have no more to give" indicates that the singer feels emotionally drained or depleted in the relationship. They may have given their all, but now they feel empty and unable to offer anything more. This could be a signal of emotional exhaustion or frustration.
When the singer repeats the phrase "I won't go," it reveals their internal conflict and the struggle to make a decision. On one hand, they may want to leave the relationship, but there is a strong resistance within them to actually go through with it. This could be due to a fear of loneliness, uncertainty about the future, or a deep attachment to their partner.
The repetition of "Won't go" at the end of each verse suggests a sense of resignation or acceptance of their predicament. Despite acknowledging the need to leave and feeling emotionally drained, the singer remains steadfast in their decision not to go. This could symbolize a sort of resignation to their circumstances, a willingness to endure the pain and turmoil of the relationship rather than facing the unknown. It speaks to the complexity of human emotions and the difficulty of making choices that may disrupt our comfort zones, even when it may be for our own well-being.
