No Speed
Dune Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Z bokoju na kanape, telewizor w ruch
Natasza smierc zniszczenie
Jestem obojetny, a obchodzi minr to

Z kanapy do bbiura, computer
Nic mine nie obchodzi
Cow twoich oczach zobaczyc moge
Nic mnie nie obchodzi, co ci po glowie chodzi
A obchodzi mnie co mowisz, i jak to mowisz

Speed. Amazing speed now
I´ll never see it coming
Never see it coming to me
Just lead
And we will follow
But I never saw it coming
Never saw it coming
To me

I don´t care what´s beyond your eyes
I don´t care what´s beyond your mind
I don´t care what you do and why
I don´t care when I am stuck in lies

Speed. Amazing speed now
I´m waiting for some action
Waiting for some action in me
Just need
Greed for tension
But I never saw it coming
Never saw it coming
To me

I don´t care what´s beyond your eyes
I don´t care what´s beyond your mind
I don´t care what you do and why
I don´t care when I am stuck in lies

I don´t care what´s beyond the ice
I don´t care what´s beyond that glass
I don´t care what´s put on that screen
I don´t care when I hear you scream

Speed. Amazing speed now
I´ll never see it coming
Never see it coming to me
Just lead
And we will follow
But I never saw it coming
Never saw it coming
To me

I just have to be to save me from hours
I just have to be to save me from hours
I just have to be to save me from hours
I just have to be to save me from hours
I just have to be to save me from hours
I just have to be to save me from hours

I just have to be to save me from hours
I just have to be to save me from hours

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Dúné's song "No Speed" convey a sense of detachment and indifference towards the world and personal relationships. The singer describes being in a state of apathy, sitting on the couch with the TV on, while death and destruction pass by without affecting them. The lyrics imply a disconnect from emotions and a lack of interest in the events happening around them.

The second verse continues with this theme of indifference, as the singer moves from the couch to the office and mentions the computer. They express no concern about what goes on in someone's eyes or mind, but rather focus on the way they speak and express themselves. This suggests a certain superficiality in their interactions, where the words and the manner of speaking hold more importance than genuine emotions or connection.

The chorus, which repeats several times throughout the song, emphasizes speed and the inability to anticipate or comprehend its impact. The singer confesses that they never see it coming, whether it refers to action, tension, or anything beyond the surface level. There is a longing for something more, a desire for action and excitement, but it remains unfulfilled. The final lines of the song repeat the refrain of needing to "be" to save themselves from hours, implying that they seek some form of escape or salvation from their detached state.

Overall, the lyrics of "No Speed" paint a picture of detachment, indifference, and a longing for something more, while also highlighting the superficiality of interactions and the inability to fully engage with the world.

Dude. Important back story. The Baron used to be physically beautiful. He only has that hideous bulk because he is cursed.

By the Reverend Mother.

As revenge.

For rape.

Which was revenge for taking his seed. For making Jessica.

i thought they wanted a male so they could see into the future? Then why are they mad at her for having one?

@ryank9782

fun note about the shields if you shoot them with a laser it causes a nuclear like explosion. also the machines tried to rule over humanity, but the humans fought back and won in the Butlerian Jihad, "thou shall not make a machine in the likeness of a man" something like that i think.

Actually Game of Thrones is Dune but medieval fantasy, as Dune released like 40 years before GoT did lol

@bulletdancestorm554

One of my favorite parts in the first book was after the Jamis fight Paul cries. And the Fremen are amazed that he would give his water for someone he barely knows.

@shahaf75

Which was sadly left out of the movie. It's one of the more powerful omens for the Fremen but movie adaptations miss.

@arroberson8796

@@shahaf75definitely missed that one. Dammit Denis

@jgonsalk

@@arroberson8796 Totally!

@ionnicoara6657

That would have been a crazy add up at the end..
