"Funky Broadway" was later covered by Wilson Pickett, resulting in a #1 R&B hit.

Originally from Buffalo, New York, the band got stranded in Phoenix, Arizona while backing the O'Jays.

Vocalist Arlester "Dyke" Christian was shot to death in 1971.

This guy predated Rick and I tell people this guy Funk was so Raw, so chump shot his to death in Phoenix right before he was to tour the UK,, The Blazers were the backup band for the O'jays they got stranded in Phoenix and set up shop their the rest is history some of the rawest funk ever was sung, written and produces by Arlester Christian from Buffalo New York .
