Although he has played guitar his entire life, he began honing his craft by posting self-made videos on Youtube and performing to his dedicated fans, who coined themselves “The Deezy Army”, on Blog-TV in early 2010. During his rise in popularity, Dylan tried out and won the first ever “Teen Hoot” contest in Nashville, Tennessee where he met David Malloy, a Grammy nominated singer, songwriter and producer. With help from Malloy, Dylan recorded his first three songs “I Call You Love”, “Kiss Me” and “Nashville”. Although Dylan wrote the first two songs before being introduced to the Teen Hoot and Malloy, the third cut in the series “Nashville” was written by Holland out of inspiration he attained during his first appearance at the Nashville “Teen Hoot”. All songs were produced by Malloy in Nashville, TN.
Dylan travels, with his parents, to Nashville, TN frequently for appearances and to support the Nashville Hootenanny’s “Teen Hoot”. In November 2011, Dylan was recognized in an article published by Pop Star Magazine (New York, NY) where he was described in the article as being the “Next teen mega crush”.
Although his genre is categorized as “pop”, his songs are inspired by many genres including rock, rap, country, and R&B. Many artists fuel his inspiration such as: Aerosmith, Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, Jason Mraz, Cody Simpson, Garth Brooks, Chris Brown, JAY-Z and Adele.
Dylan has also performed locally in Cincinnati in support of the homeless and Pencil’s for Promise. He is also an advocate for the humane treatment of animals, as well as the National Anti-Bullying Campaign. Dylan continues to perform weekly on the Blog-TV platform to keep in touch with his fans and elicit their feedback, keeping ever true to his motto, “Fans First”.
Cry
Dylan Holland Lyrics

But she's cold like that wind
with a heart so cruel she'd never trust again.
She's got a sweet romantic touch
but she loves to much for silly photographs
and her eyes are telling lie
but she's got me right where she wants me
Broken hearted and heavily guarded
sometimes she thinks there's no one there
She put her heart out on the line and
gets it broken everytime
and all this thinking has turned to drinking
she's paralyzed
But when you look outside your window
I'll be standing in the rain
Screaming you know that I love you
I hope that takes away your pain
And I come running
and I would hold you
'cause I know you'd do the same
Let's blame these days on the rain and
focus on you now
'cause you're to perfect to cry
To cry, yeah
She wears a smiling face
so her friends think she's okay
She sits and picks out all her flaws
and tears herself down in every way
But her passion burns bright like a fire
That keeps her love is my desire
and when she cries it's like an angel has fallen
Broken hearted and heavily guarded
Just when things wereall falling apart and
seems like there's no one there
I put my heart out on the line
Will it get better within time?
'Cause all my thinking has turned to drinking
I'm paralyzed
But when I look outside my window
I hope you're standing in the rain
Screaming you know that I love you
I hope that takes away your pain
And I come running and I would hold you
'Cause I know you'd do the same
Let's blame these days on the rain
and focus on you now
'Cause you're to perfect to cry
To cry, yeah.
End
The lyrics to Dylan Holland's song "Cry" depict a person who is struggling with their emotions and is dealing with heartbreak. The opening lines use a beautiful metaphor to describe the person as "smooth like a river on a cold November day," but also cold-hearted and guarded due to past pain. The person has a sweet and romantic nature but has stopped believing in love.
The lyrics also reveal how the person puts a smiling face on and tries to hide their pain from the world, but is actually struggling with self-esteem issues and tearing themselves down. Dylan Holland offers his support to the person, promising to stand by them, hold them, and love them no matter what. The chorus emphasizes the idea that the person is too perfect to cry and should focus on themselves and not let their pain consume them.
Overall, "Cry" is a song about the struggle to overcome heartbreak and self-doubt, and finding support and love in the midst of it all.
