The Pearly Gates
Dyprax & Angerfist Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
How many shots does it take, to make my heart stop
And my body starts to shake? (Shake)
Hail Mary, fuck her, I never knew her
I'd probably screw her, and dump her body in the sewer
Keep-keep stressin, the same fucking question
How many shots-
Fuck-fucking-motherfuck
Keep-keep stressin, the same fucking question
It doesn't matter what we do, does it?
They won't let us escape
I am tired, tired of running
It's always the same thing over and over
Maybe it's something about me, maybe I draw them to me
I don't know why they come
All I do know is I want this to end
Hard
I'm hard, Jehovah said I'm- I'm hard, Jehovah said I'm barred from the pearly gates
Fuck him, I didn't want to go to Heaven anyway
I'm hard, Jehovah said I'm hard, Jehovah said I'm-
Now rewind this motherfucker, you know you can't help it
I'm hard, Jehovah said I'm barred from the pearly gates
Fuck him, I didn't want to go to Heaven anyway
Anyway Hail Mary, fuck her, I never knew her
I'd probably screw her, and dump her body in the sewer
I'm hard, Jehovah said I'm- I'm hard, Jehovah said I'm barred from the pearly gates
Fuck him, I didn't want to go to Heaven anyway
How many shots does it take, to make my heart stop
And my body starts to shake? (Shake)
Keep-keep stressin, the same fucking question
How many shots-
Fuck-fucking-motherfuck
That's how we do it out here on this underground real shit
It's the heat!
Now rewind this motherfucker, you know you can't help it
Deadly combination, what?
I'm hard!
The lyrics of the song "The Pearly Gates" by Dyprax & Angerfist contain violent and nihilistic expressions. The artist is stressed out and questioning how many shots it will take to make their heart stop and body start to shake. This hints at suicidal ideation or a desire for death. In the next verse, the artist denounces religion and makes violent statements about not knowing and potentially harming a woman. The phrase "Hail Mary" could be interpreted as a reference to prayer or a reference to a sexual act, which further shows the nihilistic and disrespectful tone of the song. The chorus repeats the artist's desire to end the cycle of violence and death they feel trapped in, and this is juxtaposed against the repeated phrase "I'm hard." This phrase could be interpreted as a reference to being tough, but it is also repeated in the context of being barred from heaven, which shows the artist's pride in their violent and immoral behavior.
One interesting fact about this song is that it was released in 2011 and has been played at various hardcore and hardstyle festivals since then. It has over 3 million views on YouTube, which shows its popularity among fans of the genre. Another fact is that this song contains a sample from the movie Scarface, which appears at the beginning of the song. The phrase "Say hello to my little friend" is heard before the beat drops, adding to the violent theme of the song. Furthermore, the artists Dyprax and Angerfist are both known for producing hardcore and hardstyle music, which often includes explicit and violent themes. The song has also been remixed and played at various events, highlighting its longevity in the scene. Another interesting fact is that the song's BPM (beats per minute) is 175, which is typical of hardcore and hardstyle music.
The chords for this song are not available as it is purely electronic and does not involve the use of any traditional instruments.

Please go back to these 2009-2010 era kicks. Perfectly modern hardcore distirtion. The current rawstyle kicks used in hardcire now sound cheap and extremely overly commercial.
