Releasing official remixes for artists as diverse as Chuckie, Imagine Dragons, and Capital Cities, in early 2014 the duo collaborated with Tiesto on a remix for "Anywhere For You" by John Martin, releasing a music video as well. Dzeko & Torres have toured throughout North America and Europe, performing at festivals such as The BPM Festival, Ultra Music Festival, Winter Music Conference, Electric Zoo Festival, Coachella, and Tomorrowland.
History[\b]
2006ā10: Founding[\b]
The production and DJ duo Dzeko & Torres first formed in Toronto, Canada around 2006. Members Luis Torres and Julian Dzeko had first met as teenagers on an online forum for all-age club events in Toronto. Torres at the time was working as a graphic designer and photographer, while Dzeko was promoting events. Stated Dzeko, "we both loved house music and I had just gone and saw Tiesto play for 8,000 people in Toronto, and decided to buy DJ equipment and learn how to DJ. Luis was starting to learn production at the time and we decided to team up and learn from each other." Through 2007 and 2008 they continued to attend all-ages parties in Toronto, getting acclimated to the club scene and focusing their interest in house and its subgenres. They soon started DJing together and co-producing original material. Around 2008 they released their single "Confronted" on DJ Chuckieās Dirty Dutch Digital Vol. 4.
2010ā12: Singles and remixes[\b]
Their song "Again" was remixed by Joe Ghost in 2010. As of January 2012 they had opened for a number of major touring DJs in the Greater Toronto Area, including in London, Ontario and for DJs such as Sebastian Ingrosso, Hardwell, Marcus Schossow from Sweden, Porter Robinson, Erick Morillo, Michael Woods and Quintino.
In early 2012 they released an unofficial remix of Of Monsters And Menās āKing and Lionheart,ā which reached No. 1 on Hype Machine. The Top Sound called the bootleg "incendiary" and said "absolutely shredded every relevant internet measure imaginable. And if you have not acquainted yourself with Julian Dzeko and Luis Torres, youāre missing out on one of Canadaās most beloved acts. Bright and melodic and undeniably fun, these guys just crush lives on every track they work on." Also in 2012 the duo had a track released on Michael Woodsā Diffused Records, and released a remix of Trey Songz "Heart Attack" on Atlantic Records.
By late 2012 their tracks had been played on shows such as Tiestoās Club Life and Paul Oakenfoldās Planet Perfecto. They also premiered an unreleased track, "Togi," on David Guetta's radio show Radio DJ Mix in 2012. In 2012, they had their track "Hey" premiered on Steve Aoki's BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix 2012, a two-hour house mix including Aoki and Dim Mak Records artist.
2012: Hey EP[\b]
After premiering "Hey," Aoki asked for the duo to create a full EP, leading to the three-track Hey. Released on December 18, 2012 on Dim Mak Records, The Dancing Astronaut website wrote that the title song "Hey" "features a grinding bassline and a continuous build before dropping to a lighter synth melody." Elektro Daily called the track an "electro-house production," explaining that "Melodic key and synth progressions supply the base for the trackās uplifting build, leading into the bassey, blood-rushing drop," also complimenting "The marching percussion and chainsaw bass effect."
The EP's track "Buppy" had first appeared on blogs in late fall of 2012, with EarMilk saying the song had a "very refined grind," and the Dancing Astronaut writing the song "contains similar hard-hitting electro [to 'Hey'] but with a lighter more pulsating build." Elektro Daily wrote that "Buppy" has a "dancey, rolling beat drop that combines electro-house and moombahton... the final track of the release is 'Check This Out,' which showcases the duoās progressive side with its wobbly electro drop." Dzeko named "Check This Out" as the duo's favorite single from the album, saying that it "itās a bit of a departure from the style/sound weād normally produce....[it] has a lot of old school trance/hardstyle inspiration in it.ā
2012ā14: Recent years[\b]
They signed to the AM Only booking agency in December 2012, and that December also released an official remix of "Strange Attractor" by Animal Kingdom. In January 2013 the duo appeared in the web series The Aoki Files.
By the end of 2012 the band had toured in both Europe and throughout North America. By March 2013 they had debuted at The BPM Festival, also appearing that year at the Ultra Music Festival and Winter Music Conference as they toured North America. Other gigs in 2013 included the Chasing Summer Festival, Electric Zoo Festival in New York City, Coachella, and Tomorrowland.
In 2013, they released their collaborative single with Crossways, "Togi" on Monstercat. In April 2014 they were working with Tiƫsto's Musical Freedom label, releasing several singles. In 2014 a music video for the Tiƫsto and Dzeko & Torres Remix of "Anywhere For You" by John Martin was released on YouTube. The video shows scenes from John Martin's original video along with added footage of the DJs in action and lyrics. In February 2014 they returned to Monstercat to release their remix of Pegboard Nerds' "Bassline Kickin'". They continued to tour as of July 2014, performing at the Annual Summer White Party in Salt Lake City.
Air
Dzeko & Torres Lyrics

Staring up at the sky, I'm Heaven-bound
On the craziest ride
as you lift me off the ground
I'm up in the air
Freedom take me tonight
Staring up at the sky, I'm Heaven-bound
as you lift me off the ground
I'm up in the air
Nothing's ever been so clear
I'm up in the air
When I'm with you I don't care
I'm up in the air
I'm up in the air
I'm-I'm up in the air
The song "Air" by Dzeko & Torres featuring Delaney delves into the complexity of emotions and how human beings often fail to differentiate between pain and pleasure. The opening lines of the song "Funny, isn't it, how my nerves can't even tell the difference between pain and pleasure though my memory knows better" highlight the fact that sometimes our emotions can trick us into perceiving things in a certain way, even if our minds tell us otherwise.
The lyrics of the song also talk about the fear of the unknown and how it can lead to overthinking and anxiety. The lines "It's a bad habit to start asking questions with one eye closed, I'd be a coward keeping from one eye what the other knows" suggest that when we refuse to face certain truths or realities, we are only preventing ourselves from seeing the complete picture.
The chorus of the song is particularly intriguing as it talks about the ambiguity of a simple gesture like someone waving their hand. The lines "From far away your hand in the air, could mean goodbye, could mean hello" convey the idea that sometimes it is hard to tell what someone is really feeling or thinking, even if they give us clues. Overall, the song "Air" is a poignant reminder to embrace our emotions, face our fears and never shy away from difficult truths.

It's a bad habit to start asking questions with one eye closed
It's not wise to ignore certain aspects or information
I'd be a coward, keeping from one eye what the other knows
It would be weak to hide or deny certain truths
From far away your hand in the air
When you raise your hand far away
Could mean goodbye

Could mean hello
Or it could be a greeting
I hear the businesses outside my window rollin' up their gates
The sounds of closing businesses can be heard outside my window
And tonight when they go back down again they're gonna sound the same
When the businesses reopen, they will sound the same way they did before
All the clocks, they have stopped so I'll have to trust the night where it hangs
The clocks have stopped working, so I must rely on the darkness of the night to keep track of time
Or I'm gonna fear I'm gonna, I'll go insane
If I can't keep track of time, it will drive me crazy
Either way you wear the same sad smile, so
Regardless of the situation, you always have a sad expression
You've got to let me keep you close enough to know
You must allow me to be close enough to understand and comfort you
