The lyrics to ELFENSJóN's song Orpheus describes a person's longing for their departed loved one. The first verse speaks of the moon's gentle sound, and how even for a brief moment, it brings the person happiness. However, the person is unable to leave the eternal night, and instead walks through it with their loved one. The second verse speaks of the world now being a silent place, with only the sound of time repeating in the background. The person is left alone, cold and filled with thoughts of the end. They turned back and wished for just a little bit more time with their loved one, as nothing would scare them anymore.
The song continues on this theme, with the person admitting that even forbidden magic would not bring joy to them anymore. Even their dreams have failed them, and they're reduced to wandering the night alone. They long for their loved one's embrace, even if it were just for a little while longer, beseeching them to stay. They end the song by admitting that even their deepest desires have gone unfulfilled, and the only thing left to them is to wander the night alone.
