Decisions
EM-one Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

(Any day)
Whoa (whoa, whoa)

Whoa
Another day, another life
I wanna live it to the fullest
A little work, a lot of play
All right
足跡たどり行き着く場所
なぞるだけが僕の人生じゃない
We'll never be as young as we are now

You say it's all right
You say it's ok
It's up to you?
Is that the truth? tell me
I'm feeling used
With no one to save me
You say it's all right
Does that make it OK?
What's best for you is less for me
It's my decision

Whoa

消える前 光る前 変わらない
分からないままじゃ 絶対終われない
We'll never be as young as we are now

You say it's all right
You say it's ok
It's up to you?
Is that the truth? tell me
I'm feeling used
With no one to save me
You say it's all right
Does that make it OK?
What's best for you is less for me
It's my decision, woo!

Never never never never again
It's my life, my life, my life
My life to live

You say it's all right
You say it's OK
It's up to you?
Is that the truth? tell me
I'm feeling used
With no one to save me

They say it's all right
Does that make it OK?
What's best for them
Not listening
It's my decision
You say it's all right
You say it's OK
It's up to you?
Is that the truth? tell me
I'm feeling used
With no one to save me

Whoa

Overall Meaning

In EM-One's song "Decisions," the lyrics reflect a sense of independence and empowerment in making choices and taking control of one's life. The opening lines set the tone for seizing the day and embracing life to the fullest, balancing work and play. The idea of following one's footsteps to find their place in the world suggests a journey of self-discovery and purpose beyond just going through the motions. The acknowledgement that we will never be as young as we are now emphasizes the fleeting nature of youth and the importance of living in the present moment.

As the song progresses, it delves into the theme of personal agency and autonomy in decision-making. The questioning of whether it's truly "alright" and "okay," and the realization of feeling "used" without someone to rescue or guide, highlights the inner turmoil and conflict that can arise when faced with choices. The contrast between what may be best for others and what is best for oneself underscores the individualistic nature of decision-making and the need to prioritize personal well-being and happiness.

The repeated refrain of "It's my decision" serves as a bold assertion of ownership and determination in shaping one's destiny. The defiance in the lyrics "Never never never never again, It's my life" reinforces the idea of taking charge and living life on one's terms, not allowing external influences to dictate one's path. The emphasis on personal agency and the importance of self-determination resonate throughout the song, encouraging listeners to assert their autonomy and make choices that align with their values and aspirations.

Overall, "Decisions" by EM-One conveys a message of empowerment, independence, and self-assertion in navigating life's uncertainties and complexities. The lyrics capture the struggle between external expectations and personal desires, urging individuals to trust their instincts, stand firm in their decisions, and embrace the freedom to live authentically. The energetic and anthemic nature of the song, underscored by the powerful refrain and introspective verses, reinforces the importance of embracing agency and carving one's path with confidence and conviction.

@AlienoidNovace

That chorus. That chorus is my favourite chorus. Everything about it. The repeating "not, not, not, not" especially. It just really tickles my bone. Really razzes my berries.

@PolyFox

I can't believe how awesome this is. The ending of the song after "get in my mouth" is AMAZING. How this guy manages to take dialogue between too goofballs playing video games, pitch shift it, add a rhythm to it, and compose an entire song around it is amazing. And the best part of it is that it sounds STUDIO QUALITY. IT SOUNDS SO GOOD.
