Daydreamin'
Earth Wind & Fire Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

[Chorus]:
Daydreamin' when I'm thinking of you
Missing all the things that we used to do
Dancing at the party on a Saturday night
it was cool
Don't know how I could have been so blind
The feelings that we shared showed all the signs
Love was right there in the palm of my hand
for me

She tried in every way
To show how much she loved me
I was a fool
I just kept running away

Could it be baby
Seems to me honey
We should have been together from the start
I'm all alone darling
So far from home sugar
Girl I need you in my life

[Chorus]

[Bridge:]
Walking' round
All over town
You're the love
That I found
Baby, baby
I want to come back to you

Here's my heart
Take my hand
Walk with me
Love will stand
Baby, baby
I want to come back to you

[Chorus]

The baddest band ever๐Ÿ’ฏ

@lambda494

As someone whose dad made me listen to this album everyone on the way to school, I think this is the best track on this album. The composition is still very EWF.

@OfficielleKENI

So truuue!!!!

@wesboundmusic

I get a total kick out of that intro "Arco Strings" patch from the Roland Dโ€“50, it had sampled content in the patches, which made them sound so much more realistic. This here is a prime example of the power of that keyboard/synth at the time ;-) And that track is killer ! ๐Ÿ™‚

@Shortypants1215

My favorite EWF song!

@MrPhifer612

It's like they kept their sound and added the 90s touch to it....just marvelous!

@38kal

Yup without compromise..

@lyndelljones5483

Fabulous song. That introduction is so moving with those cello sounding synths, and that double slam of all the instruments at 0:11 is righteous!! Has Maurice White's genius written all over it. And of course they sing the life out of it.
