We're excited to announce The Spells, our fourth independent release. Using both analog and digital recording methods, we harnessed warm yet modern tones. We recorded live - as a band in a room - to capture the energy of our live performances.
We shared the experience of self-production and also welcomed a strong creative partnership with remarkably gifted local engineers, producers, and visual artists.
We're all from somewhere else. Different cities, different states. We were drawn to Philadelphia a decade ago, each with creative pursuits in mind. We've matured as songwriters, as a band, as friends in every corner of the city and we've seen all it offers and lacks.
The Spells has a mercurial heart and it's kindled by Philadelphia; our relationship with the people around us, our community, the city itself. Contained within is gratitude, frustration, and at times a simple acceptance of the bizarre.
For each of us, for East Hundred as a collective, Philadelphia has become a wildly inspiring environment in which to create. We feel it reflected in our new music.
