The album's name will be Nature/Existence and it should come out some time in 2009. Clash Magazine notes Echos are "Oddly infectious […] in an electronic haze”. Often self-referential and coated in bitter-romance lyricism, Echos brings the angst of 2006’s emo days and reinvents it with 2018’s anti-pop pop-music. Have been working with with online promotional mecca ‘MrSuicideSheep’ and his label ‘Seeking Blue’ for the last 3+ years – Echos has seen the fortune of millions of streams, impressions, and eyes on their music. Finding importance in the physical, Echos has not only seen gains digitally, but they have found themselves supporting large-room sold out tours with electronic acts like Illenium, on the festival stages of Electric Forest, Snowglobe, and more as well as a bus tour with Alternative metal good-boys ‘I See Stars’.

In the Still of the Night
Echoes Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
As I gaze out of my window
At the moon in it's flight
My thoughts all stray, stray to you
In the still of the night
While the world lies in slumber
Oh the times without number
Do you love me
Just like I love you
Are you my life to be
That dream come true
Or will this dream of mine
Will it fade way out of sight
Just like that moon growing dim
Way out on the rim of the hill
In the still of the night
The opening verse of "In the Still of the Night" by Echoes sets a serene and contemplative scene, with the singer looking out of their window at the moon during a quiet night. The stillness of the night enhances the introspective mood, prompting the singer's thoughts to turn towards a significant person in their life. The use of the moon symbolizes a sense of cosmic connection and a timeless quality to the thoughts and emotions being expressed. The repetition of "in the still of the night" creates a sense of intimacy and a moment frozen in time.
As the lyrics progress, the focus shifts to the theme of love and longing. The mention of the world lying in slumber juxtaposes the singer's active thoughts and emotions, highlighting the intensity of their feelings towards the person in question. The lines "Do you love me, just like I love you" express a yearning for mutual affection and validation in the relationship. The uncertainty and vulnerability in the singer's question reveal their deep emotional investment in the connection, emphasizing the stakes involved in the dynamics between them.
The imagery of the moon growing dim and fading out of sight serves as a powerful metaphor for the singer's fears and insecurities about the future of their relationship. The moon's gradual disappearance mirrors the potential fading of their dreams and hopes if their love is not reciprocated or if the connection dissipates. The reference to the moon being "way out on the rim of the hill" adds a sense of distance and remoteness, suggesting a feeling of isolation and apprehension in the singer's contemplation of their romantic prospects.
"In the Still of the Night" captures the poignant blend of yearning and uncertainty that often accompanies deep emotions and romantic attachments. The evocative imagery and introspective tone of the lyrics convey a sense of vulnerability and introspection, as the singer grapples with their feelings and desires in the quiet solitude of the night. The song resonates with anyone who has experienced the ache of unrequited love or the fragility of romantic dreams, offering a poignant reflection on the complexities of human connection and the timeless themes of love and longing.

In the still of the night
During the quiet darkness of night, when all is calm
As I gaze out of my window
While looking out of my window, lost in thought
At the moon in it's flight
Watching the moon as it moves through the sky
My thoughts all stray, stray to you
My mind wanders, thinking only of you
While the world lies in slumber
As the rest of the world sleeps peacefully
Oh the times without number
Countless moments that I recall
When I say to you
When I express to you
Do you love me
Do you feel love for me
Just like I love you
In the same way that I love you
Are you my life to be
Are you the one I am meant to spend my life with
That dream come true
The fulfillment of my deepest desire
Or will this dream of mine
Perhaps this hope I hold
Will it fade way out of sight
Disappear from view, lost forever
Just like that moon growing dim
Similar to the moon fading
Way out on the rim of the hill
At the edge of the hill in the distance
In the still of the night
During the quiet darkness of night, when all is calm
