Alone, thy will be done
Confessed, but you still feel the shame
Bring me into your arms again
Heroine
Heroine
Heroine
Heroine
Touch my mouth with your furrowed brow
With my heart feel my shame
Lead me into rest again
Heroine
Heroine
Heroine
Heroine
The night is long,
But the day will come
With promises were the chosen one
Soak the sea
Sweet tastering
Fall tonight into my arms again
Heroine
Heroine
Heroine
Heroine
The night is long
But the day will come
With promises were the chosen one
Soak the sea
Sweet tastering
Fall the night into the light of day
"Heroine" is a song that captures feelings of despair, shame, and the desire for redemption. The first lines, "Afraid, but you will not run / Alone, thy will be done" present an ambivalent emotion of fear and determination, while stating that the outcome is predetermined. The use of 'thy' implies a religious tone, where the person is resigned to their fate. The chorus repeats the word 'Heroine,' which could symbolize a savior, or even an escape to something greater.
The second verse displays the lyrical request for acceptance, "Touch these eyes with a broken smile / Touch my mouth with your furrowed brow / With my heart feel my shame / Lead me into rest again." The singer seems to be searching for someone or something to help them with their struggle. The line "Lead me into rest again" could also be interpreted as a desire for death, which is a common theme in music about addiction. The rest of the song echoes the themes of the verses and chorus. The inclusion of "the night is long / But the day will come / With promises were the chosen one" suggests the hope of finding salvation from the darkness.

RIP Lady with the hauntingly angelic voice...
Your advocacy for the war against child abuse will not be forgotten...
@NEMOPMORPHY
Your music has been a comfort during the tormenting bouts of insanity and your life was an inspiration which I always strove to imitate during my brief moments of lucidity.
My heart is beyond broken! You paid your dues and the whole world owes you! The world lost its fiercest warrior today. More a man than any man, a great brother in time of need, and a mother/father of the church that was most sorely needed. Thank you for tearing down Popes that needed to be, and thank you for not bowing before any king!
I love you S.O.!

Well said!
She was a beautiful soul and her strength will carry on. And her amazing music will live in our hearts and ears forever!❤❤😢
@NEMOPMORPHY
@@daisypooch4034 thank you! Her grief over her son made me, an unloved son, feel loved. She reminded me of the love of a mother, which plugged up the whole where my humanity was pouring out. The hole was a hole my mother made and it was a hole only a mother could fix. Never hugs or comfort from my mother, but the song My Darling Child is the lullaby I never got and always needed and will cherish until the end of my days. I love Momma O’Connor!
