Does it feel like it could?
With the top down, head out your window
Don't let it be misunderstood
Yeah Yeah Yeah
Yeah Yeah Yeah
Who will be your man?
'Cause we all know shit happens, let's dance
You can drive through the night
'Til the road's outta sight
Put the top down, hang out the window
Under the shining Northern Lights
Yeah Yeah Yeah
Yeah Yeah Yeah
And who will be your man?
And who will be there then?
'Cause we all know shit happens, let's dance
Let's dance
Sometimes it makes me wonder
We fall like stars we're under
We've made such a wonderful life
When every color is black and white
Everybody is movin' on up
Mr. Mayfield never gave up
Everyone that Jesus saves,
There's always some that lose their way
Yeah Yeah Yeah
Yeah Yeah yeah
Does it feel like it should?
Does it feel like it could?
With the top down, head out your window
Don't let it be misunderstood
Who will be your man? (Sometimes it makes me wonder)
Who will be there then? (We fall like stars we're under)
'Cause we all know shit happens, let's dance
(We've made such a wonderful life, when every color is black and white)
Who will be your man? (Everybody is movin' on up)
Who will be there then? (Mr. Mayfield never gave up)
'Cause we all know shit happens (Everyone that Jesus saves)
Yeah we all know shit happens (There's always some that lose their way)
Let's dance
The song Let's Dance by Edwin is a catchy tune that calls the listener to put their worries aside and dance. The lyrics pose rhetorical questions such as "Does it feel like it should? Does it feel like it could?" as a way of challenging the listener to enjoy the moment and not overthink things. The song acknowledges that life can be unpredictable, and "shit happens", but suggests that dancing can be a way of coping with the ups and downs of life.
The song also mentions driving through the night and seeing the Northern Lights, which can be interpreted as a metaphor for escaping the mundane and finding beauty in unexpected places. The lyrics "When every color is black and white, everybody's movin' on up" allude to the idea that life can be monotonous and everyone is trying to get ahead, but dancing can offer a way of breaking free from the routine and finding joy.
In the end, the main message of the song is to seize the moment, let go of worries, and dance. It is a reminder that no matter what is going on in life, there is always the chance to find joy and happiness.
