Against The Sun
Eggstone Lyrics

I've tried on and on and on
Like a fool, to keep my eyes for only you
It's not easy no it's like putting out the sun
And i will do the best i can
Because i want to be your man
And it might take a while to win
I might not win at all
Against the sun
I've tried on and on and on
Like a fool to keep my eyes for only you
And i've been told by the wisest men of all
That as long as there is morning light
I'll have the hardest time
And if i could change the day to night
There would be no me at all
Against the sun
I'll need a lot of ice
Against the sun
I'll need a satellite
The lyrics to Eggstone's song "Against The Sun" describe a person's desperation to win someone's love. The singer is fighting an impossible battle, trying to keep their eyes only on their love interest. They compare this to trying to put out the sun, a task that is impossible. The singer makes it clear to their love interest that they will do the best they can to win them over, but it might take a while, and they might not win at all. They are dedicating themselves completely to this pursuit, even acknowledging the difficulty and the possibility of failure.
The song also touches on the idea that the passage of time will work against the singer, as morning light will make their struggle even more difficult. The singer suggests that they would cease to exist if they could turn the day into night. The lyrics also suggest that the singer is aware of the futility of their mission. They will need "a lot of ice" and "a satellite" to fight against the sun, which highlights the hopelessness of the situation.
Overall, "Against The Sun" is a song that explores the universal theme of unrequited love. It highlights the desperation, uncertainty, and futility of trying to win someone's affection.
