Change
Egypt Central Lyrics

Can you forgive and forget
You can't fix it
When you live in regret
Are you afflicted
Or does it burn inside
Carpe diem
Before times slips away
Make the change
Don't deny it
I know your terrified of yourself
You can't fight it
I know your screaming for help
You chase riots
But your running blind
Carpe diem
Say what you have to say
Before times slips away
Make the change
Say what you have to say
Before times slips away
Make the change
Say what you have to say
Before time slips away
Make the change
Say what you have to say
Before times slips away
Make the change
Say what you have to say
Before times slips away
Make the change
Don't deny it
I know your terrified of yourself
You can't fight it
I know your screaming for help
You chase riots
But your running blind
The lyrics to "Change" by Egypt Central convey a message of personal growth and self-reflection. The opening lines suggest a sense of inner turmoil or uncertainty, as the singer expresses conflict and regret. The mention of "forgive and forget" implies that perhaps someone has wronged the singer or vice versa, leading to this inner turmoil. However, the lyrics seem to suggest that dwelling on regrets and mistakes cannot fix the situation or bring peace.
The chorus of "Say what you have to say, before time slips away, make the change" offers a call to action for the singer to take control of their life and their circumstances. This phrase reinforces the concept of carpe diem, or seizing the day, implying that time is short and it is necessary to act now before it is too late. The repeated use of this phrase in the song seems to indicate that this is a central message of the song.
The second verse of the song intensifies the message of the chorus, with lines like "Don't deny it, I know you're terrified of yourself" and "You chase riots, but you're running blind". The lyrics suggest that fear and self-doubt may be holding the singer back, causing them to make impulsive and unwise decisions. The singer urges themselves to find the courage to face these fears and take control of their life.
Overall, "Change" by Egypt Central seems to encourage the listener to embrace personal growth and face their fears head-on. The song offers a sense of urgency to this message, emphasizing the need to act quickly before time runs out.
