...nú munk nár af bragði
ok nær dýrum deyja.

Gnyðja mundu grísir,
ef galtar hag vissi,
mér er gnótt at grandi,
grafa inn rönum sínum
ok harðliga hváta,
hafa mik sogit, ormar;
nú munk nár af bragði
ok nær dýrum deyja.

Gnyðja mundu grísir,
ef galtar hag vissi,
mér er gnótt at grandi,
grafa inn rönum sínum
ok harðliga hváta,
hafa mik sogit, ormar;
nú munk nár af bragði
ok nær dýrum deyja.

Gnyðja mundu grísir,
ef galtar hag vissi,
mér er gnótt at grandi,
grafa inn rönum sínum
ok harðliga hváta,
hafa mik sogit, ormar;
nú munk nár af bragði
ok nær dýrum deyja.

Eigi hugðak orma
at aldrlagi mínu;
verðr mjök mörgu sinni,
þats minnst varir sjálfan.

Eigi hugðak orma
at aldrlagi mínu;
verðr mjök mörgu sinni,
þats minnst varir sjálfan.

(nú munk nár af bragði
ok nær dýrum deyja)

The lyrics and their translation:

"Gnyðja mundu grísir,  ef galtar hag vissi,
mér er gnótt at grandi,  grafa inn rönum sínum
ok harðliga hváta,  hafa mik sogit, ormar;
nú munk nár af bragði  ok nær dýrum deyja."

"The young pigs would squeal if they knew
the state of the boar; of the injury done to me.
Snakes dig in my  fesh, stab at me harshly,
and have sucked on me; soon now will my body die among the beasts."

“Eigi hugðak orma  at aldrlagi mínu;
verðr mjök mörgu sinni,  þats minnst varir sjálfan.
Nú munk nár af bragði  ok nær dýrum deyja"

"I did not look to a snake to be my bane;
things happen very often to one that one thinks of the least.
Soon now will my body die among the beasts."

@dominusstyx

Good day, Sotiri. I understand the emotions the "old day" Scandinavians have on you.
Maybe it's because their culture had, in part, the same mentality as ours. Greeks.
But under no circumstances, I called it "ancient" as their history hasn't begun till the 8th or 9th century after christ.
And I agree that christianity, and All organized religion, for that matter, is the destroyer of the True identity of peoples.
Religion is the cancer of mankind.

Please, listen another Einar's song. It's from "Assassin's creed" https://youtu.be/yVaVppOkC-s
Goosebumps all across the board.
Cheers from Ottawa.

Hearing this poem
In this form
In the original language
In my favourite scene ever to be put on the small screen
Was beyond what I ever could have thought to ask.

But it was glorious, brothers.

All hail king Björn Járnsíða. The bear was greated with a horn bigger than Hárs, in his own hall.

it kind of doesn't make sense how Ivar stabs Bjorn in the first place as he was supposed to be leading the flanking attack on the city from the mountains and they were fighting on the beach.
