In El Andariego's song "Por Un Amor", the singer tells of the pain he feels as he sees the woman he loves with another man. The first verse describes how he saw her passing by with her new partner, and how she laughed as she looked at him. This causes him to think about the woman he loves and how she makes him dream, even though she is with someone else. However, he is convinced that she will return to him because she knows how much he loves her.
The chorus expresses the singer's frustration with his situation. He questions why life is so cruel to him, as he cannot be with the woman he loves. He says that he thinks of her and cries because he loves her but cannot have her. The repetition of the lines "Tanto sufrir por un amor, por un amor/Tanto llorarle a una mujer, a mujer" reinforces the idea that the singer is suffering greatly for his love.
In the last verse, the singer repeats the idea that the woman loves him and he loves her, but they cannot be together. He is resigned to the fact that she is currently with someone else, but knows that she will return to him eventually.
