Trato, siempre trato
de hacer blues
Siempre trato, trato
de hacer blues
No me importa si no te importa
No me asusta si no te gusta mi blues
Trato, siempre trato
de hacer blues
Siempre trato, siempre trato
de hacer blues
No me importa si no te importa
No me asusta si no te gusta mi blues
No me importa si no te importa
No me asusta si no te gusta mi blues
The lyrics of El Cruce's song "Trato de Hacer Blues" (I Try to Make Blues) revolve around the singer's love for the blues and his dedication to pursuing his passion, despite the lack of support or belief from others. The first stanza establishes a sense of separation between the singer and the rest of the world - he lives on the other side of the street, and he tries to make blues. This distance can be interpreted as a metaphor for his alienation from mainstream society, which might not appreciate his music. However, the singer remains undeterred and resolute in his pursuit of the blues, stating that even if no one believes in him, he will keep trying to make blues music.
The second stanza introduces an unnamed female character who hears the singer's music and suggests that it could sound better if he changed the lyrics or style. While this could be taken as a criticism of his music or an attempt to change him, the singer seems to take it as constructive advice that could help him improve his craft. This willingness to listen and learn from feedback is another aspect of his dedication to his art. The rest of the lyrics repeat the message that the singer will keep trying to make blues music, regardless of others' opinions or reactions.
Overall, "Trato de Hacer Blues" is a song that celebrates dedication, perseverance, and love for the art of making music. It presents the singer as a determined and passionate artist who is not concerned with fame or commercial success, but instead seeks to express himself through his music. The lyrics also suggest that pursuing one's passion can sometimes entail feeling disconnected from mainstream culture, but that this distance can be empowering rather than isolating.
