Electric Light Orchestra & Olivia Newton-John Lyrics

It was a lucky April shower
It was the most convenient door
I found a million dollar baby
In a five and ten cent store
The rain continued for an hour
I hung around for three or four
Around a million dollar baby
In a five and ten cent store

She was selling China
And when she made those eyes
I kept buying China
Until the crowd got wise

Incidentally
If you should run into a shower
Just step inside my cottage door
And meet the million-dollar baby
From the five and ten cent store

Love comes along like a popular song
Any time or anywhere at all
Rain or sunshine
Spring or fall
Say, you'll never know when it may say hello
In a very unexpected place
For example, take my case

She was selling China
And when she made those eyes
I kept buying China
Until the crowd got wise

Incidentally
If you should run into a shower, oh
Step inside my cottage door
And meet my million-dollar baby
From the five and ten cent store

I was just now watching this scene on television. I was born and raised in her hometown, Melbourne Australia. Later today is her state memorial service. It's going to be massive, and so poignant. Something that adds to this - on another level - is that my parents are only a handful of years younger than Olivia, born 7 & 8 years after her. They watched her on television in the 1960s as they were youngsters (Olivia debuted on Australian tv at only 14 or 15). They saw her career grow when they were young adults themselves. Olivia was from their era, which is now long ago. Now she's gone, along with others who my parents grew up admiring, watching and listening to. It is just all so sobering, but it helps me to remember to live in the now and cherish each day. Olivia left behind films and songs that will be seen and heard for generations, may she rest in peace.
You have to believe we are magic
Nothin' can stand in our way.
You have to believe we are magic
Don't let your aim ever stray.
And if all your hopes survive
Destiny will arrive.
I'll bring all your dreams alive
For you.

I was looking for a CD to play in my car today and found her CD which I hadn't played in ages, than I came home and found out she passed to Xanadu, that is some illuminati shit right there, like she was talking to me, freaky!

As a skater and an ELO fan, this is the ONJ song I remember.

When I was in junior high school, I went to see this movie with my friends. I admired Olivia on the screen and danced.
I was young then.
But Olivia will forever live in my heart as a beautiful, intelligent woman.
Olivia, rest in peace

My mum adored Olivia, being a 70s kid, so she made sure my brother and I appreciated her talent just as much. Rip :(

I am an adult male 77 years old. This song makes me cry. I went to see it with my wife and 2 daughters. My youngest especially just loved ONJ. We saw her perform at Forest Hills on Long Island. My baby girl just turned 50 on 2/4/24. My oldest was taken from us in a car crash on 11/13.87. Yes, it was a Friday. I will always have a place in my heart for Olivia Newton-John.

This is the REAL effort within this movie. Imagine the coordination, and costume design. Impressive.

@PADARM

I love absolutely everything about this movie. The 80s art-deco revival, the uplifting songs, the wonderful choreographies, and of course the very talented and beautiful Olivia N.J and the fantastic Gene Kelly. This movie is not Shakespeare and it was not intended to be. It is just a movie that brings so much joy.

@jamiefenn1799

And the superb Jeff Lynne & ELO!
