The oblivion and ecstasy of crushing doom and high grade marijuana, a sonic aural trip far, far away from this world, where only cyclopean walls of crackling vintage tube amps in full overdrive and primal ritualistic beats can wash away all the filth and drudgery of everyday life. Their music can be described as Doom Metal. Their sound is a crushing behemoth of funeral march psychedelia. Violent, bleak and ritualistic.
Born in Dorset, England in 1993, in a quiet country town, initially they were the product of frustration, unemployment and excessive drug abuse. But through hallucinogenic experimentation and occult sciences they realized their true potential. A celebration of outre low brow art like Weird Tales, 70's horror and B-movies, head shop art, drug comix, italian pornohorror comics, Crepax, Lovecraft, Howard etc. etc...coupled with a morbid fascination in cults, witchcraft, freemasonry, biker culture, mysticism and ancient occult sciences and how these dark arts can be applied to music.
Their history actually starts in 1988 when Justin Oborn created a doom-influenced death metal band called Lord of Putrefaction. The above mentioned band released only several demos but it showed the unique talent of Justin Oborn in the art of creating heavy slow riffs. In 1992 Lord of Putrefaction disbanded and Justin Oborn started another band called Thy Grief Eternal which moved more towards the doom metal genre though still it had significant death metal influence.The music was more refined and mature. Then in 1993 Thy Grief Eternal was disbanded and the band Eternal was crated. This band played pure stoner doom though the quality can't even come close to the next and the last band in this history, Electric Wizard. Mark Greening left Ramesses to re-join the band in late 2012.

We Hate You
Electric Wizard Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
[you'll see what's there. Fear, and frightened people who kill what they can't understand."]
A seed of hate from the day I was born
My right to vengeance from me has been torn
Hopeless and drugged, my black emotions seethe
Loveless and cold, my hate begins to breed
Then your fucking world brings me down again
So I'll take my father's gun and I'll walk down to the street
I'll have my vengeance now with everyone I meet, yeah
A seed of hate from the day I was born
My right to vengeance from me has been torn
Hopeless and drugged, my black emotions seethe
Loveless and cold, my hate begins to breed, yeah
We hate you
We hate you
We hate you
We hate you
We hate you
The beginning of Electric Wizard's song "We Hate You" features a sample that sets the mood for the entire song. The sample is a conversation between two people, discussing man and his relationship with fear and violence. The song itself is centered around the concept of hate that has been brewing inside the singer since his birth. He expresses his feelings of hopelessness and the desire for revenge, but his right to vengeance has been taken away from him. The blackness inside his mind begins to churn and breed more hate in him.
As the singer's negative emotions continue to fester, he becomes more internally conflicted. In the chorus, the lyrics move from his personal experience to a more general "we." It becomes clear that the "we" he is referring to are those who, like him, have been consumed by hate. The repetition of "we hate you" is both a reflection of the depth of the singer's rage and a message to those who may have incited it. The phrase is a simple but powerful one, invoking a raw sense of loathing that cannot be denied. The song is a powerful statement against the helplessness and frustration that can come from the constant barrage of negative emotions.
Overall, "We Hate You" is a song that reflects on the dark side of human nature. It explores the destructive power of hate and the ways in which it can consume and control us. The lyrics are graphic and unapologetic, reflecting the intensity of the emotions that are being expressed. It is a song that resonates with anyone who has ever felt controlled by their own negative feelings, and it serves as a warning against the dangers of giving in to those emotions.

First time hearing this band. The music is super cool. But be careful if you listen to this music for too long. Or you’ll find yourself hearing an endless stream of doom metal riffs and melodies chugger through your head and all around you, bouncing around inside your skull walls ceaselessly, as you chase your thouhts like so many frittering bats, except they are like big evil flying fox motherf*ckers.
@hellsbells1151

@@hellsbells1151 yes, the world needed this band it was time. Time for a band with 1 foot in psychosis, and 1 foot in absurdism, and 1 foot in just kick ass-ness.
@hellsbells1151
@Grey Pilgrim their lyrics are sooo terrible that they are kind of. great too. like. the writer got stuck. in. a cheap horror b movie vibe ..forever...and ever..like his brain is gonne and endless repeat. of simplest frases. ..still sounds delicicious
@bobbyb4024
I personally disagree the writing is pretty powerful and it’s like palpable hatred. Some lines they write are awesome, but the hatred is so intense that it’s almost comical.
@hellsbells1151
@Bobby B true. however on the later albums. the writing gets desperate. yea love this song
@Boris_Chang
Metal actually goes well with old silent movies.
@leod7454
This wasn't a silent movie.
