Time after Time pasuje bardziej do płyty ,, Balance of Power,, ale jako utwór znajdujący się w połowie płyty ,, Secret Messages,, łączy dwa różne style muzyki rockowej z symfoniczną . Electric Light Orchestra pod koniec działalności zespołu , zaczęła eksperymentować z muzyką rockową i połączyła ją z domieszką jazzu i muzyki elektronicznej.

On the originally intended version of Secret Messages, this track came before "After All". That song starts with a piano and keyboard chord, and this song ends with a short piano passage. Perhaps this was supposed to fade directly into "After All".

Also, "Mandalay" sounds like it would've faded directly into this song. That would mean that side four of Secret Messages would've been one continuous suite.

Time After Time is a thinking man's song...Rock And Roll Is King is a the vain of a 1960's rock song. I love everthing Jeff Lynne dose. BTW new Jeff Lynne album out sometime in 2012.

ELO did some amazing b-sides and some of them were better than their a-side! All the b-sides have been released on cd except Drum Dreams (I think). Although it wasn't on the LP, Time After Time was released on the casette version of Secret Messages, placed in between Take Me On And On and Four Little Diamonds, and it was placed here on the cd reissue as well (that's why it isn't a bonus track). In my opinion you are right that it was better than Rock n Roll is King.

Hard to believe that this classic was a B side to the awful Rock n Roll is king. Hard to believe that the same group could turn out two such different songs. They did the same with Hold on Tight (AWFUL) the B side When Time Stood Still is a gem.

Im not at all sure what prompted you to make that rather nasty remark. I was purely making comment on ELO as I have enjoyed their music for many years. You obviously have reason to have said what you did so maybe you could share it one day. My parents are deceased so no more comments on that score please.
