Eu Neemias estando em Susan
I, Nehemiah, being in Susa

Veio Anani um dos meus irmãos e alguns de Judá
Anani, one of my brothers, and some from Judah came

E perguntei-lhes sobre os judeus acerca de Jerusalém
And I asked them about the Jews in Jerusalem

E disseram-me: Os restantes que não foram levados para o cativeiro
And they said to me: The remaining ones who were not taken into captivity

Estão lá na província em miséria e desprezo
Are there in the province in poverty and contempt

E os muros de Jerusalém fendidos
And the walls of Jerusalem are broken down

E suas portas queimadas a fogo
And its gates are burned with fire

Quando eu ouvi, a noticia dada por um dos meus irmãos
When I heard the news given by one of my brothers

Sobre Israel, a cidade e a nação, eu chorei
About Israel, the city, and the nation, I cried

Os seus muros derrubados ao pó
Its walls brought to dust

Suas portas, queimadas a fogo
Its gates burned with fire

E onde era um lugar de paz, agora é de desgosto
And where it was a place of peace, now it is one of sorrow

O rei me vendo percebeu a tristeza
The king, seeing me, noticed the sadness

Pois nunca antes me viu daquela maneira
For he had never seen me like that before

Me chamou e perguntou: O que entristece o teu coração?

Porém a Deus e ao rei eu falei

E a situação a ele eu contei

Ele me disse: Pede o que queres e assim te fará
He said to me: Ask what you want, and I will grant it to you

E os meus planos comecei a detalhar
And I began to explain my plans

E ao rei, comecei falar
And to the king, I began to speak

E eu lhe disse: Se é do agrado do rei
And I said to him: If it pleases the king

Peço te que, me envies a Judá, para que eu a edifique
I ask you to send me to Judah, so that I may rebuild it

Então o rei me disse: Quanto durará tua viagem?
Then the king said to me: How long will your journey take?

E quando voltarás?
And when will you return?

Respondi ao rei apontando certo tempo
I answered the king by indicating a certain time

E disse mais: Se parece bem ao rei
And I added: If it pleases the king

Dê-me cartas para os governadores
Give me letters to the governors

Para que me deem passagem
So that they may grant me safe passage

Para que eu chegue a Judá
So that I may arrive in Judah

Como também uma carta a Asafe
As well as a letter to Asaph

Para que me dê madeira
So that he may give me wood

Para cobrir as portas, e os muros da cidade
To cover the gates and the walls of the city

E o rei foi bondoso comigo
And the king was kind to me

Mas de uma coisa eu sei, era porque a mão de Deus
But one thing I know, it was because the hand of God

Era sobre mim
Was upon me

Então fui, e comecei a trabalhar
So I went and began to work

E os muros, comecei a levantar
And I started to build the walls

Chamei todo povo, homens e mulheres para me ajudar
I called all the people, men and women, to help me

Fechei todas as brechas
I closed all the gaps

Que nos muros eu achava
That I found in the walls

Coloquei as portas, que foram queimadas
I set up the gates that had been burned

Pois quem é cidade de Deus, nesta terra
For whoever is the city of God, in this land

Tem que estar preparada
Must be prepared

É tempo de reconstruir o que o inimigo arruinou
It is time to rebuild what the enemy ruined

É tempo de se levantar e agir
It is time to rise up and act

É tempo de juntar o povo para reconciliação
It is time to gather the people for reconciliation

Chegou o tempo da reconstrução
The time for reconstruction has come

Tem que pegar pesado tem que fechar as brechas
You have to work hard, you have to close the gaps

Tem que trocar as portas, tem que ficar alerta
You have to change the gates, you have to stay alert

Tem que chamar o povo reconstruir de novo
You have to call the people to rebuild again

O que foi derrubado e queimado no fogo

E se vierem Sambalate e Tobias e seus aliados pra atrapalhar

Não vão conseguir, porque o dono da obra é Jeová

Close the breach of lies, the breach of gossip

A brecha da inveja, a brecha da discórdia
The breach of envy, the breach of discord

A brecha do pecado, de tudo que é errado
The breach of sin, of everything that is wrong

Tu és cidade de Deus, tem que estar preparado
You are the city of God, you must be prepared

É tempo de perdão, de se arrepender
It is time for forgiveness, for repentance

E de firmar os pés e de se converter
And to stand firm and convert oneself

É tempo de buscar renovo e em santidade aqui viver
It is time to seek renewal and to live here in holiness

Levante o muro do jejum, o muro da oração
Raise the wall of fasting, the wall of prayer

O muro do louvor, e da consagração
The wall of praise and consecration

A muralha da graça, a muralha da fé
The wall of grace, the wall of faith

Levanta esse muro e põe ele de pé
Raise that wall and put it in place

Acorda, levanta a hora é chegada
Wake up, rise up, the time has come

Vamos unir as nossas mãos
Let us join our hands

Chegou o tempo da reconstrução
The time for reconstruction has come
