Hoy me siento ilusionada
Tus mentiras no valen nada
Ahora voy a salir y así poderme sentir
Hoy me siento ilusionada
Tus mentiras no valen nada
The lyrics of Elisa Rego's song Libre de Ti explore the theme of moving on from a past relationship and finding freedom and happiness in oneself. The singer describes the countless nights spent thinking about their former lover, caught in a spell that seemed never-ending. However, the person no longer calls or comes around, and the singer realizes how strange it feels not to cry or feel intimidated by their presence. They note that the love they once felt no longer exists within them. Despite still remembering the person's voice and touch, the singer has become indifferent towards them and no longer waits for their return. Instead, they are excited to have time to love again and give to others, something they could not do while under the spell of their past relationship.
The chorus declares the singer's newfound freedom from the person, how they want to live and laugh unencumbered by their lies and indifference. The repetition of the phrase "libre de ti" emphasizes the singer's freedom and reinforces the song's message of moving on and finding happiness in oneself. The song's message can be translated as encouraging people to let go of their past relationships and embrace the prospect of finding someone new or focusing on themselves.
