Just As The Tide Was Flowing
Eliza Carthy Lyrics

Jump to: Line by Line Meaning ↴

Rasa cinta yang dulu tlah hilang
Kini bersemi kembali
Tlah kau coba lupakan dirinya hapus cerita lalu
Dan lihatlah
Dirimu bagai bunga dimusim semi
Yang tersenyum
Menatap indahnya dunia, yang seiring menyambut
Jawaban sgala gundahmu
Walau badai menghadang
Ingatlah ku kan slalu setia menjagamu
Berdua kita lewati jalan yang berliku, tajam
Setiap waktu wajahmu yang lugu
Slalu menjadi langkahku
Telah lama menanti dirimu
Tempat ku kan berlabuh
Cahaya hatiku
Yakinlah kekal abadi selamanya

Seperti bintang
Yang sinarnya terangi sluruh ruang dijiwa
Membawa kedamaian

My entire life I have played in bands: Rock bands, pipe bands at Grade 1World Championship level, folk bands, metal bands. I have not just played a vast amount of music but have also listened to countless renditions (live and recorded) of English, Scottish and Irish songs. I petsonally regard this as one of the greatest versions of a folk song ever recorded , if not the greatest. I certainly cannot think of anything better.

Absolutely superb version

I like folk the simple way, but this is convincing - a lovely job. Well sung Ms Carthy.

What instruments am I hearing at the beginning? Melodeon . . and violin? Or is it just melodeon? It's transfixing.

@mikemcguigan8715

Pretty sure you’re right - melodeon & fiddle.

@honeychurchgipsy6

love this song but I find I cannot make much sense of the words - can anyone help?
