Endgames was founded in 1980 by David Rudden , who recruited David Murdoch, and Paul Wishart in Glasgow. The trio became a sextet in 1982, including drummer Brian McGee of the Simple Minds, among others. In this year the band also released their first single, First, Last, For Everything.
In 1983 their debut album Building Beauty was released, the first single from the album, Waiting For Another Chance, was a hit in Germany (21st place in September 1983, 15 weeks in the charts), but did little elsewhere. The band toured with several other groups, including the Eurythmics and released a second album, Natural, in 1985. The album sold poorly and is hard to find nowadays.
