Endochine Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Who did you make up? Was he an injured man?
You're as polluted as you wanna be, yeah
Let's take a long walk and let the haze clear out
There are some questions that you need to ask

(You wake and you crawl) and you can't find anyone at all
You discover yourself
You might find someone else, yeah

You wake up You're in a hot sweat
You're wondering where the hell everyone's gone
You're looking forward to meeting everyone
You're learning how you know you need to let it go

(You wake and you crawl) and you can't find anyone at all
You discover yourself
You just found someone else, yeah

You wake up. You're all alone.

There's no one here.
But you (wait, you wait, wait), yeah!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Endochine's song "Discover" seem to revolve around self-discovery and the exploration of one's inner thoughts and feelings. The first verse asks about a figure that the singer may have imagined or created in their mind, asking if he was an "injured man." This could be interpreted as a metaphor for a part of themselves that they may have buried or ignored, leading to inner turmoil or pain. The next line, "you're as polluted as you wanna be," could suggest that the singer is aware of their own flaws and issues but has control over how they choose to deal with them.

The chorus emphasizes the idea of discovery, with the lines "you discover yourself" and "you might find someone else." This could refer to the process of introspection and self-reflection leading to a newfound understanding of oneself or potentially forming new connections with others who share similar experiences or mindsets. The following verses further explore the theme of loneliness and the feeling of being lost, but also hint at the potential for growth and enlightenment through self-discovery.

Overall, the lyrics of "Discover" encourage the listener to take a deep dive into their own psyche and face their inner demons. The song suggests that by confronting and accepting oneself, one can find a sense of purpose and connection in the world.

Man I hung out with these guys some in Houston. Great live show. Darrell, drummer, was on the creeper lagoon message board as we were all fans, and had mentioned his band a few times. Had to have been 2000? Good times.

AMN was such a jewel. Replaced by corporate nonsense that no one cared about. It's been all downhill in this town since they took it off the air. Maybe not the first nail in Austin's coffin, but an early one for sure. What a loss.
