In 1967, they began to fuse pop and psychedelia with reasonably impressive results, especially the single "I Can See Through You" (written by Glover), one of the finest British psychedelic obscurities. Their final two singles showed the band going in a much more progressive direction and anticipating some of the most indulgent art rock of the '70s with "Mozart Versus the Rest," which assaulted one of the composer's most famous riffs with manic electric guitars. Episode Six folded in 1969, after Gillan and Glover had joined Deep Purple.

Fortune Teller
Episode Six Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
To have my fortune read
I didn't what to tell her
I had a dizzy feeling in my head
Said she'd take a look at my palm
Said "Son, do you feel kind of warm?"
And she looked into her crystal ball
Said it could not be so
Not with all the girls I know
Said when the next one arrives
Looking into her eyes
I left there in a hurry
Much to my big surprise
The next thing I discovered
The fortune teller told me lies
So I ran back to that woman
Mad as I could be
Told her I didn't see nobody
How she made a fool out of me
At last something shook me
As if it came down from above
And now the fortune teller
And I fell in love
In the first verse of the song, the singer explains that they visited a fortune teller to have their fortune read. However, they didn't reveal that they were experiencing a dizzy feeling in their head. The fortune teller took a look at the singer's palm and informed him that he was in love. However, the singer was skeptical and didn't believe it could be true.
In the second verse, the singer left the fortune teller in a rush, thinking that the fortune teller told lies. But he came back later in anger and told the fortune teller that she had made a fool out of him. Then, something sudden happened, which shook the singer, and he realized that the fortune teller and himself had fallen in love.
The song is a story of how a man visits a fortune teller who predicts that he will fall in love. Although the singer is skeptical, the prophecy comes true in the most unexpected way. The song tells us that sometimes everything may not be what it seems, and destiny may have a way of catching up with us.
