The Webs We Weave
Escape The Fate Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

So grab this statement
And read between the lines
I'm walking on an edge
That's how I stay alive
I need a fix now
The pills I have to take
It helps me live a lie
And blinds all my mistakes

before I die
I will have seen it all
The mountains I have climbed
Help me enjoy the fall

Oh the webs you weave
We are caught in the fame
The passion's dead
The life you've lead
Has drown in your shame

oh the webs I weave
I am caught in this game
My passions dead
The life I've lead
Has drowned me in vain

so paint my portrait
The colors of my life
And the untold stories are painted in black and white
I can hear the footsteps
That follow to my pulse
This paranoia has haunted me like a ghost

before I die
I will have seen it all
The mountains I have climbed
Help me enjoy the fall

Oh the webs you weave
We are caught in the fame
The passion's dead
The life you've lead
Has drown in your shame

Oh the webs I weave
I am caught in this game
My passions dead
The life I've lead
Has drowned me in vain

I will have seen it all (seen it all)
I will have seen it all (seen it all)

I'm killing time
Let me go (before I die)
(I will have seen it all)
It reads their minds
Brings them close (before I die)
(I will have seen it all)

Oh the webs you weave
We are caught in the fame
The passion's dead
The life you've lead
Has drown in your shame

Oh the webs I weave
I am caught in this game
My passions dead

The life I've lead
Has drowned me in vain

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Escape the Fate’s song The Webs We Weave tell the story of a person who is caught in a life of deception and addiction. The first stanza speaks about the need to take pills to stay alive and the necessity of living a lie. The chorus is where the title comes in, with the line “Oh the webs you weave, we are caught in the fame,” which describes how the person is caught in a life they’ve created, involving drugs, fame, and addiction. The second verse reiterates the pain of addiction and how it has led the person to believe their life has no meaning.

The bridge of the song speaks of the fear of dying before seeing everything this world has to offer. While the last chorus speaks of being caught in a game and how the person’s passion is dead. The song is a commentary on how we can easily become lost in our passions and addictions, further digging ourselves deeper into a web that is almost impossible to escape.

Overall, the lyrics paint a picture of a person struggling with addiction and fame, unable to escape the negative consequences of their actions. In their desperation, they continue to feed their addiction, ultimately leading them down a destructive path.

The cracks in the voice are golden

@DVRKSTXR

Joseph Jacobs I've always thought that the few idiosyncrasies and imperfections in Ronnie's vocals make his music more enjoyable to listen to than other artist's music. Ronnie just has this naturally raw, unadulterated quality that you have to be born with. It can't be copied or imitated.

@@DVRKSTXR he always reminded me of david lee roth in that way

if u like cracks, check band Rise Against

I always thought he was trying to do the squeak thing that Craig does. I always like ronnies more but Craig's were more clean. Ronnie still does that so it wasn't shitty skill he's just not as try hard I guess.
