The lyrics of Estrella's song, Ojala, communicate the conflicting emotions that arise after a relationship ends. The lyrics are full of wishes: wishes for the other person's wellbeing, wishes for them to forget the singer, and even wishes for their own death so that they don't have to see the other person anymore. The first verse wishes that the falling leaves won't touch the other person's body, so they can't turn them into glass, suggesting that they have the power to make things beautiful but also run the risk of breaking them. The second verse holds a similar sentiment, wishing that the rain won't be a miracle that falls on the other person's body, suggesting that they have the power to receive special treatment but are also vulnerable to getting hurt.
The chorus repeats the same wishes: that the singer doesn't have to see the other person anymore in every second and every vision. The verse that follows wishes that the other person forgets the singer's name so that it no longer haunts them. The final verse wishes that the desire to see the other person dissipates so that the singer can move on. The song is full of contradictory emotions, reflecting the complex nature of letting go and moving on from a relationship.
