They played some psychedelic progressive rock, singing in german, mixing music and left-wing ideas through theaterical performances.
Albums:
1970 -We- (under the name of Royal Servants)
1971 -Eulenspygel 2-
1972 -Ausschuss-
After a split up and few line-up changes, they released 'Eulenspygel' in 1979 and 'Laut & Deutlich' in 1983, but those are not as psychedelic and radical as their early seventie's work.
Eulenspygel who combined rock with left-wing political theater, and who performed their songs in their own language. Though not as well known as Floh de Cologne, Eulenspygel were almost as radical with their blend of psychedelic and progressive rock with classic rock and jazz styles.

Vom Bürger verlacht
Lustige Klingel am Rock
Sei ein Narr und spiel
Lachende Menschen
Vom Frohsinn genarrt
Blicken in Dein Gesicht
Was Du sagst
Durch Deinen Spaß
Bringt Dir nur Hass
Trauriger Spaß
Till Eulenspiegel mit wallendem Haar
Gitter verstehen nicht
Was Du sagst
Durch Deinen Spaß
Bringt Dir nur Hass
Trauriger Spaß
Was Du sagst
Durch Deinen Spaß
Bringt Dir nur Hass
Trauriger Spaß
The lyrics of Eulenspygel's song "Till" describe the story of Till Eulenspiegel, a legendary prankster figure from German folklore who lived in the 14th century. The song talks about how Till is laughed at by the citizens, but still has a sense of humor and likes to play tricks on people. The chorus of the song repeats how people do not understand Till's jokes and the acts of humor often bring him hatred instead of happiness.
The first verse mentions how the citizens laugh at Till and his funny clothing, but he still plays the part of the fool happily. The second verse talks about how his humor is misunderstood and how people cannot comprehend his jokes. The chorus is repeated twice, emphasizing the message of how Till can never please everyone with his humor, and the fact that his jokes bring him more sadness than happiness.
Overall, the song is a commentary on the human condition, highlighting how misunderstood and underappreciated one's efforts can be. Despite the pain, Till still clings on to his sense of humor and tries to bring laughter to those around him.
