Anchored by guitar player/vocalist Craig Chaney’s clean singing and catchy hooks, punctuated by lead singer Andrew Carey's vicious screamed vocals, the five-piece band never depended on anyone but themselves to push their band forward. Rounding out the lineup alongside Andrew and Craig is Josh James (guitar/vocals). With their blistering combination of melodic hardcore, metal and punk-rock strains, Evergreen Terrace has toured the world with bands like As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, Ignite, Biohazard, Hatebreed, Rise Against, Thursday, Circa Survive, Everytime I Die, Strung Out, Agnostic Front and many more. They have also been apart of Sounds of the Underground, Persistence Tour, Warped Tour and Soundwave. In 2012, founding member Josh James joined Stick to Your Guns and the band announced that they are planning an EP, which will be their final release through Metal Blade Records, but never released it. On october 22,2013 band announced that their new album Dead Horses to be released on December 10, 2013, through Rise Records.

This version is great, seems like it wasn't recorded in the greatest quality but great cover nonetheless. Not the best cover, obviously, but arguably more intense than the original. As I've said before, Depeche Mode were AWESOME song writers, but almost every cover of their work tops the original... they were so very flat, but this version offers a little dimension.

I love how the song starts, great rendition of the original riff..., but when the vocals kick in, i am losing it. imo they have could do something nicer with it. i love EGT. HOWEVER, it gets better towards the end. so... nice one...

i agree..it is an highly overused term. but even so, i do like a lot of evergreen terrace's work, but i wise person once said; "less is more". When you apply too much emphasis on any one thing, it deminishes the overall quality of what could have been a fantastic song. in which case, i'm not really enjoying the "hardcore" anymore. But that is just my opinion and everyone is entitled to they're own thoughts. one persons "trash" is another mans "treasure"

Who cares about the exact genre? I don't. Especially if it moves something in me. I don't care if it is gothic metal or punk rock or hardcore or even ska.
Goosebumps do not form because it is categorized as synth-pop or improvisative jazz or chamber quartet or thrash metal or whatever.

I like when people like you always have this same reply and they think they're really smart when in-fact it just ends up making them look stupid. I am here because I was looking for ets covers and came across this one. I was hoping that it might be decent but it ended up being rather poor. Hearing they're other stuff, I'm sure they could have done better. Any problem if I want to hear a dm band? oh I love this part: "Why are you listen to it?" @pyroflash93 There's a difference between metal and whatever this is. I know this is a cover and thus the band's style isn't completely showing, but this sounds pretty terrible. Extremely generic breakdowns, and the layered vocals sound terrible. For what I would consider metal, look up The Agonist or We Came as Romans. For layered vocals, As I Lay Dying does a great job.
