We are not able to think clearly or rationally in the current circumstances.

We've abandoned all semblance of presence.
We have lost all sense of awareness or control.

We are trapped or confined, unable to escape.

We are committed to a lost cause or doomed enterprise.

I accept the new order, and I will abandon the situation altogether.
