Moon River
Evinha Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I'm crossing you in style some day
Old dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you're going
I'm going your way
Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
Waiting round the bend
My huckleberry friend
Moon river and me
(Refrain)
The song Moon River by Evinha reflects on the beauty and vastness of the world, comparing it to the river that spans wider than a mile. The lyrics express the desire to explore and experience all that the world has to offer, symbolized by the journey across the river in style. The reference to the "dream maker" and "heart breaker" highlights the unpredictability of life, where one's dreams may either come true or be shattered. The singer shows a willingness to take that risk and follow whoever is leading the way, stating "wherever you're going, I'm going your way".
The second verse introduces two travelers, who are on a quest to see the world and all its wonders. They share a common goal of reaching the end of the rainbow, which represents the ultimate dream or goal that they are pursuing. The image of waiting round the bend, hoping to find the pot of gold, creates a sense of anticipation and excitement. The singer affectionately refers to their companion as their "huckleberry friend", reinforcing the idea that they are in this journey together. The last line "Moon river and me" emphasizes the significance of this place in their journey, as it is the starting point of their adventure.
