2. Example consists of rapper: Kay and producer Cipher. They are signed to Beat Farm, where they released the Impulse EP back in 1997. Unfortunately no debut album came out of the duo.
"Ok, here's the short version. Kay & I became roommates March 1996 & started a group called Example (I.E.). That summer, Example & the K-Otix had a meeting about putting our music out independently. The plan was to put out a double-sided EP, one side Example & the other K-Otix. Well, things didn't go as planned, so both groups decided to do 2 seperate EPs & release them around the same time. Done deal. Kay became writing the very first song on July 26, 1996. We both produced 3 songs each on the EP. January 1997, we released our 6 song EP titled, "Impulses". We only pressed 500 copies." - Cipher

Had to go get something out my system I
ignored the warnings, bit the fruit
She might have tasted good
But man she was my kryptonite
Shoulda known she was trouble from the start
I, knew she'd broken hearts I,
Danced with the she devil in the pale moonlight
Alarm bells rang, but I loved the drama
In a dark place but I loved the karma sutra
Shoulda closed that door
But I kept going back for more
She's electric, she's the current running through my veins
She's a siren, hearing voices that I can't explain
Now I should be thinking it over
Instead I'm calling her over
Now she's here and she won't go quietly
I Should be thinking it over
Instead I'm calling her over
Now she's here but she won't go quietly
I needed more than just a cheap thrill ride
See I needed something that ran deep inside
Ignored the warnings, bit the fruit
She might have tasted good
But man she was my kryptonite
Shoulda known it wouldn't last for a year I,
knew it'd all end it tears I,
cracked, she was mind addictive, never felt scripted
Upredicatable, tied up, but no strings attatched
Left scratch marks on my back
Her cold eyes got me excited and I can't hide the truth
She's electric, she's the current running through my veins
(I just can't kick the habit)
(I just can't kick the habit)
She's a siren, hearing voices that I can't explain
(I just can't kick the habit)
Now I should be thinking it over
Instead I'm calling her over
Now she's here and she won't go quietly
I should be thinking it over
Instead I'm calling her over
Now she's here and she won't go quietly
Can't see the end of this or who survives
It's just another case of do or die
Can't see the end of this or who survives
It's just another case, another case, another case
another case, another case
She's electric, she's the current running through my veins
(I just can't kick the habit)
(I just can't kick the habit)
She's a siren, hearing voices that I can't explain
(I just can't kick the habit)
Now I, should be thinking it over
Instead I'm calling her over
Now she's here and she won't go quietly
I should be thinking it over
Instead I'm calling her over
Now she's here and she won't go quietly
Can't see the end of this or who survives
It's just another case of do or die
Can't see the end of this or who survives
It's just another case of do or die
Can't see the end of this or who survives
It's just another case of do or die
The song "Won't Go Quietly" by Example is about the singer getting involved with someone who he knows is trouble from the beginning. He is addicted to her and can't stop calling her over even though he should be thinking it over. He needed more than just a kiss goodnight or a cheap thrill ride, he needed something deep inside that he thought he found with this person. However, she ends up being his downfall and he can't see the end of it or who survives.
Throughout the song, the singer talks about how he ignored the warnings and bit the fruit, a clear reference to the biblical story of Adam and Eve. This reinforces the idea that he was aware of the consequences but still chose to go down that path.
The line "She's electric, she's the current running through my veins" is a metaphor for the intense and addictive nature of his attraction to this person. He also refers to her as a siren, which is a mythological creature known for luring sailors to their doom with their enchanting songs.
The lyrics also suggest that the attraction between them is highly physical, with references to the Karma Sutra and scratch marks on his back. However, there's no emotional connection as he describes her as being unpredictable and cold.
Overall, the song is a cautionary tale about getting involved with someone who is clearly trouble from the start. The singer knows that it won't end well but can't resist her anyway.
