Exposé was initially formed in 1984 when Lewis Martineé, a Miami disc jockey and producer, decided to form a dance-based group. He also wrote and produced all songs on their first two albums, Exposure (1987) and What You Don't Know (1989). He also contributed to the group's third effort, Exposé, in 1992.
During the recording of the group's first studio album Exposure, the personnel of the group changed.
In March 1987, the new lineup of Exposé released its debut album Exposure on Arista Records, led by the pop/dance hit "Come Go with Me" which reached #5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. During the summer of 1987, a re-recorded version of "Point of No Return" was released, with Jurado now performing lead vocals, and it too topped out at #5 on the US Hot 100.
Their most successful period was from 1986 until 1995 when they were dropped from Arista Records. They were inactive from 1996 until 2003 when they performed a reunion concert and soon after performed full time.
Billboard magazine named the group the 8th most-successful girl group of all-time based on charts.

As Long As I Can Dream
Exposé Lyrics

Is too hard to take
And too much for me
And everything's in blue,
When the rain's pouring down
And I can't find the sun,
It don't mean the sun can't be found
It always comes through
That can't find its way
There's not a night that's long
That can't find the day
As long as I can dream,
There's a better world
Oh, there's a better world
I see it shining
And in my dreams, I see
There's a better world
Oh, there's a better world
As long as I can dream
In my heart, there's a place
Where there's always hope
And always a way
To make it through the night
And in my soul, I believe
If I just have faith,
Then I will be free
I'll be alright
There's not a soul that's lost (not a soul)
That can't find its way
There's not a night that's long
That can't find the day
As long as I can dream,
There's a better world
Oh, there's a better world
I see it shining
And in my dreams, I see
There's a better world
Oh, there's a better world
As long as I can dream
(Na na na na na na
Na na na na na) Oh yeah
(Na na na na na)
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na
Na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na, oh-ohhhhhhhhhh
There's not a soul that's lost
That can't find its way
There's not a night that's long
As long as I can dream, (as long as I can dream)
There's a better world
I can see it shining on me
(In my dreams, I see) In my dreams, I see, yeah
There's a better world
As long as I can dream
(There's a better world, there's a better world)
And I can see it (I see it shining), yes, it's shining on me
(In my dreams, I see) In my dreams, I see
(There's a better world)
Just as long as I can dream
As long as I can dream,
I see a better world
As long as I can dream
When rain is pouring down,
It don't mean the sun can't be found
As long as I can dream
(repeat and fade out)
The song "As Long As I Can Dream" by Expose is an empowering ballad that speaks to the power of hope and faith. The song begins by describing a world that is overwhelmingly difficult and too much to handle, and the singer finds herself feeling blue and unable to find the sun. However, she asserts that even though things are difficult, that doesn't mean that the sun won't eventually shine through. With the strength of hope and faith, she believes that there is always a way to make it through the dark times.
The chorus of the song highlights the power of dreaming: "As long as I can dream, there's a better world / Oh, there's a better world, I see it shining." The singer's dreams provide her with a window into a world that is full of hope and light, and even though that world may not be readily apparent in the physical world, it exists within her heart and soul. The song is ultimately a message of resilience and optimism, encouraging listeners to hold on to their dreams and beliefs even in the face of adversity.
Overall, "As Long As I Can Dream" is an uplifting song that speaks to the universal human experience of facing difficult times and finding the strength to persevere through hope and faith.

All 3 can sing lead. They all have their own styles and all are 🔥
Judy Cerda
Yes, that is what was so unique about this group; they all sing leads on different songs. Some groups such as the Cover Girls only had one lead singer. I like it when all of them can sing well enough to do leads.

This song is one of my all time favorite songs. It is my go to song when I am depressed to get me feeling better. ❤

So many things make Expose very special. They have 3 incredible lead vocalists, Jeanette, Ann and Gioia . . . and they could harmonize so exquisitely. Everything they produced is just pure heaven to the ears and soul. Thanks ladies!!
Geddo
Gioia was on a bit of a break at this time. Kelly Moneymaker took her place here.
