Read Full Bio ↴There are two known artists that have used the name Eyes Set to Kill:
1) A post-hardcore band from Phoenix, Arizona, United States.
2) A soft rock band from Melbourne, Australia.
A White Lotus traditionally represents a rebirth. Just like the beautiful flower, Eyes Set To Kill has gone through a metamorphosis. After years of being forced to conceal their aspirations, the Phoenix, Arizona-based collective finally reveal their true identity on their upcoming fourth studio album appropriately entitled White Lotus.
âItâs a symbolic name,â Alexia Rodriguez states. âWe have a clear mind set, we have purity and we know exactly what we want to do with our music. We know who we are and where we want to go, and so we wanted to use a white lotus to symbolize how confident and focused we are. Itâs a leap for us because we have a clearer vision of what we want.â
Down to a more concentrated four-piece, Eyes Set To Kill slowly drowned out their screamo vibe and have transformed into a metal band led by Rodriguezâs piercing vocal prowess. Tie that in with stellar musicianship, mature songwriting and an adrenaline-charged resonance, and itâs clear this explosive quartet is on the verge of redefining the genre.
Those sentiments are further backed up by smash singles like âThe Secrets Between,â a heavy single about withholding the truth from a significant other; âForget,â an intense ditty about the desire to erase your memory from terrible experience with an ex-lover; and âWhere I Wanna Be,â a love song with a dark edge.
Itâs a new and improved style, and theyâve spent years getting to this point.
Formed in 2003 by the Rodriguez sisters, Eyes Set To Killâs passionate music connected with fans early on and led them to becoming one of MySpace.comâs top unsigned screamo bands in 2006. The group signed with BreakSilence/Suburban Noize Records the following year and release three critically acclaimed studio efforts â 2008âs Reach, 2009âs The World Outside and 2011âs Broken Frames.
Frustrated with the label politics, and pressure to withhold their identity, Eyes Set To Kill decided to break away and become the band they were destined to be. The metal quartet independently released White Lotus through a joint venture between their own imprint Forsee Records and Maphia Entertainment.
Eyes Set To Kill aims to make a career on their terms and the versatile White Lotus is a testament to their craft. âIâve found that the more unique people are, the more unique their tastes are gonna be,â Rodriguez says. âSo I think people that are diverse and are into all types of music, theyâll like this album because itâs diverse, but a lot heavier.â
Now, itâs time for this White Lotus to bloom.
Liar in the Glass
Eyes Set to Kill Lyrics

Chandeliers ablaze
We'll dance in fear of our own lives
That our eyes contain
Behind these masks we renegade against the sound
We'll let our voices slowly fade and ring out
Crystal chandeliers hang
Gently swaying with our bodies, fall down
Race upon us, hammer into the ground
Crystal chandeliers hang
Crystal chandeliers hang
We dance among our shadows,
Our enemies connected feet to feet
We dance among our shadows
Our enemies connected feet to feet
I'll take the lead
I won't run I won't hide from this
Dance into the night
Gently swaying with our bodies fall down
Race upon us hammer into the ground
Crystal chandeliers hang
Crystal chandeliers hang
Hiding (hiding) behind a mask (only lasts til)
'Till you see the reflection of a liar in the glass
The lyrics to "Liar in the Glass" by Eyes Set to Kill describe a person's internal struggle and the battle they face with their own conscience. The crystal knives and chandeliers symbolize the delicate balance of living while being surrounded by dangers that could cause harm at any moment. The fear of one's own life represents the fear of facing the repercussions of one's actions. The masks we wear represent the fake persona we put on to hide our true selves, renegading against the sound which symbolizes society, the norm, and what is expected of us. The line "we'll let our voices slowly fade and ring out" is about feeling defeated, resigned to fate, and losing the fight against ourselves.
The next verse speaks of dancing among shadows with our enemies connected, representing how we battle with inner demons that are connected to external obstacles. The singer takes the lead because they are willing to face their fears, they won't run anymore, and they won't hide from the truth of who they are anymore. They dance into the night with the crystal chandeliers hanging gently, once again symbolizing the delicate balance of life. Lastly, we hear the line, "hiding behind a mask, only lasts til you see the reflection of a liar in the glass," which speaks to the fact that hiding behind a fake persona, or a mask, is only a temporary solution. Eventually, a person will see the liar within themselves when they look in the mirror, and they will have to face their true selves someday.
