After playing hometown dates at local festivals in 2016, Faouzia’s burgeoning career started to blossom. She has since taken the stage at Toronto’s Yonge & Dundas Square for Canada’s Walk Of Fame Festival, and played one high profile event after another, wowing audiences with her heart-wrenching lyrics and magnetic stage presence.
Switching seamlessly between composing songs in English and French, Faouzia follows her well-tuned instinct when songwriting. Her first single “Knock On My Door” found its way onto regular rotation at Canadian radio, and the follow up “My Heart’s Grave” is already seeing adds in both Canada, and her native Morocco. Another accolade that the teen can add to her already impressive résumé is that of an award-winner. In early 2017, Faouzia became the first Canadian in history to win the Grand Prize award for the International Songwriting Competition, besting over 16,000 entries from137 countries, and a few short months later, was awarded the Grand Prize for the Unsigned Only Music Competition (6,000 entries from 90 countries). Faouzia was the first ever teen to win each award.
Influenced by hours spent listening to traditional Arabic music in her parents’ minivan, the songbird’s voice embodies a unique range, taking on subtle trills and stylings that combine effortlessly with contemporary pop hooks or Francophone lyrics.
You won’t be able to miss this up-and-coming artistic force – Faouzia’s star just keeps shining brighter.

We don't stray from anyone
'Cause you and I know better
They don't know, we have eyes like mirrors
We don't need any armor
'Cause we got spirit and that's enough
So let 'em say whatever
It doesn't matter if tomorrow there's a war
My love, oh, we're one
And I run, I run to the battle
Oh, I run, it doesn't matter if tomorrow never comes
My love, oh, we won
And I run, I run to the battle
Oh, I run, to you
I run
I run
Our momentum's fire
Set it off like a cannonball
We're gonna burn forever
It doesn't matter if tomorrow there's a war
My love, we won
And I run, I run to the battle
Oh, I run, it doesn't matter if tomorrow never comes
My love, we won
And I run, I run to the battle
Oh, I run, to you
I run
I run
Oh, woah
Your, woah
Doesn't matter if tomorrow there's a war
My love, we're one
And I run, I run to the battle
Oh, I run,
It doesn't matter if tomorrow never comes
My love, oh, we won
And I run, I run to the battle
Oh, I run, to you
I run
I run
In FAOUZIA's song "Battle," she talks about the strength and unity that comes from a deep and genuine connection between two people. The lyrics suggest that when two people are truly in love, they don't need any armor to protect themselves from the outside world because their love acts as a shield, allowing them to be vulnerable and real with one another. It also implies that when faced with adversity, they will face it together, hand in hand.
The lyrics also suggest that this kind of love is powerful, and it has the ability to set things in motion. The line "Our momentum's fire, Set it off like a cannonball" portrays the idea that when two people are in love, they have the power to inspire and ignite others around them.
Overall, the song hints at the idea that love can conquer all, even the toughest battles, and that as long as two people have each other, they can face anything that comes their way.
