This same could also be used by NHPC for their projects which would not only help in generating clean energy but also help in reducing evaporation losses of water. Settling ponds of thermal plants could be also used. Nice step in cleaner greener direction more to come.

It will keep the water cooler and the cooler water will help the solar panels work better. Also, less water gets evaporated.

@Altamash Qureshi Its not like that for every project a proper Environmental Impact Assessment report is mandatory, environmentalism is important. This specific types of projects are really big in nature, it's all about research though, only time will tell.

It is a bit expensive than setting up on land but it saves space on land. Also reduce evaporation of water body.
