Kotoba nomikomu anata no aozameta kao
Omoidasu tabi watashi wa hiza wo kakae
Hitori de iru to oshitsubusaresou ni nari
Sore ga kowakute heya no akari wo keshita

Kensou wa yari to nari jiga wo mochi watashi goto tsuranuku

Shinri ni chikadzuku hodo ni toozakaru
Afureru omoi wa nomikomarete
Miorosu amata no hoshi mo kieteyuku
Zennou yume miru kodomotachi yo

Sasowareru mama hoshi no inryoku ni dakare
Shini mo yoku nita kankaku tanoshimi me wo tojita

Kensou wa yari to nari jiga wo mochi watashi goto tsuranuku

Shinri ni chikadzuku hodo ni toozakaru
Afureru omoi wa nomikomarete
Miorosu amata no hoshi mo kieteyuku
Zennou yume miru kodomotachi yo

Sasowareru mama hoshi no inryoku ni dakare
Shini mo yoku nita kankaku tanoshimi me wo tojita

Overall Meaning

In FLOPPY's song "Longinus," the singer seems to reminisce about a past romantic relationship or perhaps a painful memory involving someone they loved deeply. The opening lines describe the face of the person they still remember, with a hint of bitterness and resentment in the phrase "nomikomu anata no aozameta kao" (the face of you that I swallow). As they recall this person, the singer feels overwhelmed and alone, imagining themselves being crushed under the weight of their own sadness. This feeling is captured in the lyric "hitori de iru to oshitsubusaresou ni nari, sore ga kowakute heya no akari wo keshita" (I feel like I'm being squashed alone, and I'm afraid - so I turn off the lights).

The second half of the song seems to shift to a more dream-like state, with the lines "sasowareru mama hoshi no inryoku ni dakare, shini mo yoku nita kankaku tanoshimi me wo tojita" (seduced by the gravitational pull of the stars, I close my eyes and enjoy the sensation that is so close to death). While the singer is still struggling with pain from their past, they find a sense of solace in the idea of being drawn towards something greater than themselves. The repeated phrase "shinri ni chikadzuku hodo ni toozakaru" (becoming more distant as I approach the truth) reflects the deeper themes of the song - the idea that despite our yearning to understand and connect with others, we are ultimately limited by our own perceptions and experiences.
