Natural Sinner
Fair Weather Lyrics

I'll keep smoking till I die; I wear a suit of sadness made by experiencefor I believe that in the endtime will heal what man can't mend.
I'm a natural sinnerborn a sinner's son.
Evil's been my mottodistrust ev'ryone.
I'm a natural sinnerborn a sinner's son.
Evil's been my mottodistrust ev'ryone.
The opening lines of the song, "Sometimes I feel too old to work, too young to die, but I drink wine and whisky," sets a melancholic tone. The singer seems to be struggling with his purpose in life and the inevitability of death. However, his coping mechanism seems to be drinking and smoking, demonstrating a sort of resignation to his fate. The next line, "I wear a suit of sadness made by experience," suggests that he has been through a lot in his life and has accumulated a lot of pain and sadness as a result.
The chorus of the song, "I'm a natural sinner, born a sinner's son. Evil's been my motto, distrust ev'ryone," sheds light on the singer's past and personality. He seems to have been born into a family with a history of rebellion and sinning. This could also suggest that he has been influenced by his upbringing and family history, leading him to develop a belief in the power of evil and a distrust of others.
Overall, the lyrics of "Natural Sinner" reveal the struggles of the singer with finding meaning in life and dealing with the consequences of his past. It also highlights the power of upbringing and experience on a person's personality and beliefs.

I remember the skinheads adopted the song and paraphrased:
"I'm a natural Skinhead, born a Skinhead's son
We wear boots and braces and we kick you up the bum!"
That's my recollection anyway :)

There was a B/ W promo video clip to this when it was released in 1970. The band were in a forest, that's all I can recall and I saw it on TOTP for sure. This song just seemed different to anything else out there at the time.
