Swing Low Sweet Chariot
Fairfield Four Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Swing low, sweet chariot,
Comin' for to carry me home! :|
I looked over Jordan and what did I see,
Comin' for to carry me home!
A band of angels comin' after me,
Comin' for to carry me home!

|: Swing low, sweet chariot,
Comin' for to carry me home! :|

If you get there before I do,
Comin' for to carry me home,
Jess tell my friends that I'm acomin' too,
Comin' for to carry me home.

|: Swing low, sweet chariot,
Comin' for to carry me home! :|

I'm sometimes up and sometimes down,
Comin' for to carry me home,

But still my soul feels heavenly bound
Comin' for to carry me home!

I love these guys. So great to hear voices that aren't drowned out by overproduction.

the greatest song ever

@kybazion

I agree.. The beginning was horrible. I was trying, in vain, to figure out if their out of tune dis-harmony was intentional and leading somewhere.. but it wasn't. It's sad but I do love these guys. All the best

The lead was just cracking a bit on that long note but to call it terrible is just overreacting and silly. They sound amazing and the bass singer is definitely the standout in the group.

@kybazion

+manansis86 it is silly to say the lead was just cracking a bit.. the harmony wasn't there. I've been a fan of the four for YEARS and being honest

@sbkrantz
