The Sickness
Falling Sickness Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Here comes Sickness
Falling Sickness
Four rude punx from Ripperside, CA
We got the Ska-ca
That'll knock ya
On your ass
And leave you with nothing to say
And all you Nazi's
And Straight X fuckheads
Fuck you and your organized position
Us Ripperside punx won't take your shit
Cuz were drunk and on
A race mixin mission
Here comes the sickness
With clinched fists
But no black eyes
Do what the fuck we want
Ripperside will rise
No were not in the pit
To join your violent outrage
We're here to escape this time
Here comes sickness
Falling Sickness
We got clout and didn't have to sellout
We'll keep on fighting
Always striving
You Nazi's better fucking get the hell out
Fuck you rude boys w/ no sense of humor
And your organized positions
Us Ripperside punx
Won't take your shit
Cuz we're drunk and on
A race mixin' mission
Here comes the sickness
With clinched fists
But no black eyes
Do what the fuck we want
Ripperside will rise
No we're not in the pit
To join your violent outrage

We're here to escape this time
Here comes Sickness!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Falling Sickness's song "The Sickness" revolves around anti-racism and anti-fascism. The song starts by introducing the band, "Here comes Sickness, Falling Sickness, Four rude punx from Ripperside, CA" and then boasts about their music style, "We got the Ska-ca that'll knock ya, On your ass and leave you with nothing to say." The band then directly addresses nazis, white supremacists, and straight edge folks, telling them to "fuck off" because they refuse to align themselves with any kind of organized oppressive group, "And all you Nazi's, And Straight X fuckheads, Fuck you and your organized position, Us Ripperside punx won't take your shit, Cuz were drunk and on a race mixin mission."

The song then goes on to declare that the band will continue fighting for what they believe in, "We got clout and didn't have to sellout, We'll keep on fighting, Always striving." The final verse reinforces the band's stance on not engaging in violent behavior, "No were not in the pit, To join your violent outrage, We're here to escape this time." The song ends with a final declaration of the band's name and slogan, "Here comes Sickness!"

Overall, "The Sickness" is a powerful and direct call to action against racism and fascism, with the band not shying away from their political views and using their music as a platform to express them.

I used to love this band.
I used to listen to them probably around the early to mid 90s. Great album. I remember it well.
Love the Drugstore Cowboy or Drugstore Bandit (whatever that movie was called) Great movie too.
Just can't remember if it was "Cowboy Or Bandit".
I'll have to look it up after listening to the rest of this album.
